There's no doubt McGregor is the biggest draw in combat sports, even more popular than Pac in 2009.

There's only 3 fights for this guy to consider that actually make sense:

    1.) Trilogy with Nate Diaz!
    2.) Rematch with Jose Aldo.
3.) Fight number 1 contender Khabib.

Any of these fights I'm on board with!

The kid's doing it right. Doing a little short of Tyson-in-his-prime numbers and seems to still be climbing, even after getting humiliated by Diaz. If I had to guess I'd say 205 will do 1.8-1.9 million and finally nudge those Tyson figures, but it'd still be a pretty wild guess and could be anywhere between 1.5-2.2.

And let's be clear: the fact UFC-205 had two other title fights will mean much less to that number than the fact Conor was on it. The Polish girls and the welterweight boys will have had their profiles raised no doubt, but the drawing power of UFC-205 was something like 75% Conor and 25% New York, and that's being kind to MSG.

Meanwhile, it seems like what makes the most sense next is Nurmagomedov, who's 24-0 and is the best option of the five main possibilities for someone who has a mouth to match. Ferguson has been a good talker in the past but seems to have shut down for some reason. Nurmagomedov also brings his connections to the Eastern European market, an area in which Dana White has made no secret he has a huge interest. I'd bet Nurmagomedov nets the most, followed by Diaz for a third time, followed by Woodley, followed by Aldo, followed by Ferguson.

McGregor's coach Owen Roddy said Conor walks around 80kg (177lb). Bisping is probably 200-205. He's also 6'1", whereas Woodley is 5'9", the same height as Conor (if we trust the UFC's dodgy stats anyway). Bisping has good wrestling too, especially against strikers. He'd make Conor his pet without too much trouble.

I'm 100% with you that it'd sell like gangbusters though.

He's probably going to lose again soon unless he can make 145.

Why you compare it with boxing?you can't fight with Floyd stance in MMA.there are takedowns, kicks, elbows and clinch game.

I'm big fan of boxing, but you are just making fool out of yourself here.

You barely read my post. My whole point was that these mma fighters don't know how to properly throw or protect themselves from strikes which is a universal fundamental regardless of the combat sport. Even McGregor fights with his chin up.

If you watched Hooker fight we could say boxers fight like they are having an epileptic fit but it wouldn't be true. What about all the Asian / EE KB and Muay Thai fighters that cross over to MMA - they haven't got striking fundamentals down? Rubbish.

With the sale to the IMG, WWE mob we will hopefully see more Asian strikers and less b grade US wrestlers and reality show winners - that's the roster that generally put on the type of display being referred to.

My bad, thanks for correcting. Have been quite turned off the UFC since the whole Rousey and McGregor scene IMG, WME (WWE I first typed) and some investment firms with a bunch of chinese money plus the Abu Dhabi govt and who knows what other partners - is that right?

That was an unintended pun - about right with the UFC these days though.
