Is anyone else noticing a disturbing trend; aging fighters taking performance enhancers just to remain competitive?

I wish fighters wouldn't try to hang on so long after they're past it. Sure, Morales is nowhere near as old as fighters like Tarver. But the fact that fighters are resorting to this is really a strong case for them hanging up the gloves.

 

Good for pointing that out. "Trying to hang on too long" was the first thing I thought when I heard about Tarver, and about this.

I'm a big baseball fan and remember how many 35+ ballplayers there were at the end of the steroid era.

theres no excuse for a 24 year old undefeated champion to defend his belt against a shot former super bantamweight legend who is 36 and has won only 4 of his last 10 fights.

 

He claimed it was due to contaminated meat? Is that a viable explanation?
