There's no one great at 160 for GGG to beat, but Hopkins didn't beat anyone either

To be fair ward and kovalev instantly makes him an ATG in my opinion and he beats them at 175 then were talking a top ten borderline top 5 because that's two bad mofos, not sure about the greatest though

Anyone that is ranked in the top ten of any division is a great fighter. The difference in talent between a popular all time great, and the few guys below him isn't that much.

You guys drink way too much hype and associate greatness with popularity, when in reality - these other guys are also top notch.

There is a reason only a few fighters have gone undefeated, if any division was full of bum's this wouldn't happen.

I could see putting him in the discussion for around top twenty, maybe, but that's about it. To be honest, I am not completely sold on Kovalev yet. The Kovalev/Ward fight will answer a lot of questions in my mind.

    WTF did I just read?

The difference between an ATG fighter and a contender like say a Chris Algieri is massive.

Kovalev keeps blowing people into a million pieces. He's the real deal.

Your right the difference between the top guys can be staggering like in the case of GGG or kovalev (except Ward) whereas sometimes its not so small like the welterweight or light division where there's no real stand out person yet

Ok. Yea when the divison is weak and lacks top end talent the difference between the champ and the contenders can be small.

He may be but I can't say he is at this point. Beating Gramps Hopkins and the limited Pascal twice as his best victories don't prove an awful lot to me. I wonder about Kovalev's whiskers. His chin seems a little suspect to me for some reason. If he destroys Ward then that would answer all questions as far as I am concerned.

Kovalev is the real deal but I guess the ward fight tells how real he is, but him beating ward is definetly a top 10 win if he did it after kovalev because ward is right up there with the best super middleweights of all time

    Again you prove that YDKSAB.

Jones Hopkins was a 7-5 type of affair. Hopkins has never been an easy fight for anyone...
