There's no one great at 160 for GGG to beat, but Hopkins didn't beat anyone either

    Say no more.

A gift against Sturm equates to great things.

Your mum should have been sterilised.

    Which fighter was this?

If it is Trinidad then proves how overlooked Hopkins was not how great a middleweight Trinidad was.

I think against Trinidad he was 4-1 underdog after Tito had beaten joppy and Holmes.

So, please tell us about the illustrious careers of the TOMATO CANs who line Bumlovkin's resume.

    The floor is yours.

    Lol...

    :deal

Prime Trinidad would go through this current crop of 160lb'ers like a hot knife through butter - Bumlovkin included...

Maybe - but NOBODY was saying this at the time, and everyone was assuming Trinidad would blow Hopkins away like he did Joppy. In fact, the talk of the town was that Trinidad, after beating Hopkins, would go on to face Roy at 168.

I think you're probably right in that Hopkins was a bit overlooked (despite having been a top 10 P4P fixture for some time). But I also believe people sell Trinidad short. For starters, he was probably more impressive at 154 than 147 (at least for my tastes), and the way he demolished Joppy was an impressive feat any way you slice it.

So the fact remains, Hopkins defeated a guy who was hugely favored against him, and he did so in the most thorough and dominant fashion imaginable.

    Trinidad never fought Holmes.

I think he very possibly could have beaten most 160 pounders out there today, and I definitely believe he would have made easy work of guys like Cotto and Canelo.

I wouldn't favor him against Golovkin myself, but I think Trinidad tends to be vastly underrated on the whole.

There's no question. Trinidad's short tenure @ 154 left nothing but carnage and mass destruction in it's wake. He retired Reid, Vargas was never the same after the Trinidad beating and Thiam was never heard from again. Tito @ 154 was an absolute BEAST...

Fair enough my mistake but at the time they thought Trinidad was not only pound for pound but had cleaned 154 like some of the other guys have said

Styles make fights and the guys who gave Trinidad the most trouble were fighters possessing of an excellent jab, good movement and superior defense - guys like de la Hoya, Hopkins and Wright. Tito's bread-n-butter were the come forward types who tended to stand in front of him and trade. Guys who weren't slick. Guys like Bumlovkin. Tito was the sharper puncher and, even @ 160, he had enough on his punches to make a defensively irresponsible guy like Bumlovkin think twice.

Trinidad by KO mid to late rounds

Funny part about this whole thing is that Tito was considered chinny at 147.

Guys, I am holding a Trolling and Boxing 101 classes this summer. The Trolling class will be inside Pac's head-plenty of room and the Boxing 101 class will be held in front of 600 billion people inside of Povetkins head.

The above outlook from the deformity on boxing can be posted today because anyone can create a thread, even if they don't know boxing. It is a shame that this poster though was allowed to post this mess. He's never boxed before, he's a terrible poster with many alts, and is was born of degenerates. If you do attempt to talk boxing in this thread, your computer, IPad, IPhone, laptop or any device that houses boxing websites will explode in 20 seconds. You've been warned.
