I seriously doubt the original poster really believes that Tyson would have been competitive with Vitali. Tyson had poor stamina and little mental strength, and would never do well against Vitali, who is almost impossible to hit/hurt. About four rounds into the fight you'd have seen Vitali stalking Tyson with a smile pasted on his face as he started to pummell Tyson without mercy.

 

I agreed with ya. Tyson pre prison would KO Vitaly inside 3 rounds. Vitaly would be back peddling the whole time. Hell, Adamek had him going backwards for a bit until Adamek made the mistake of landing, allowing Vitaly to realize he couldn't hurt him...at all. Tyson the beat up Holmes, Ruddock (my favorite fighter), Spinks, et al WOULD HAVE hurt Vitaly.

mike tyson was famous for folding when offered any resistance. vitali would win on sheer size and jab alone.

thread starter, you, along with a whole host of others are living in a fantasy world. no way does a mentally weaker tyson beat a gifted behemoth like vitali.

Vitali is too damn big and iron chinned for Tyson. He made Adamek look tiny and Adamek is 4 inches or so taller than Mike.

I love how people makes statements without actually doing a little bit of researching, you have to look at the fighters that Tyson fought, that reminded the most of Vitali, and then make your predictions from that info..
In Tyson's reign as a champion, he fought 2 guys at 6"5" or above(Biggs and Tucker), he scored a knockout against Biggs (A 30-10 club fighter)..
Is this what you are basing your "Tyson would walk through Vitali" theories on? .. As Anut would say: Gie Ma a fukin breyak..

 

What does Vitali - Peter have anything to do with Vitali - Tyson? First of all, Vitali won that fight giving it perhaps 60%, protecting his injury - prone body after four years of inactivity. He could beat a much better opponent in a much closer fight, he wouldn't have to win every minute of every round without trying too hard as he did against Peter.

Second, we haven't seen a prime Tyson against an opponent with Vitali's chin, size, workrate and weird angles. And Vitali is probably mentally a lot stronger than Tyson if the intimidation thing doesn't work for Mike.
