Basically Yarde probably wants the opportunity, but not the fight itself.
It would be his biggest fight, both financialy as in a sporting sense.
He fought Kova of course, but only at a time the shine was worn off from the once dominant champ. Beterbiev is the 175 IBF/WBC/WBO, and something some fans seem to love, the mythical lineal champ.
It's a very big fight for mister cross-fit and his "legendary" "trainer" Tunde, win or lose.
Like Inoue vs Butler, we alreadykmow what's gonna happen, but they still want their moment in the spotlights and their payday.

 

No fan of Yarde, but he did go to Russia to take on Krusher, admittedly a faded/shot version. Still, that does show a fair bit of mental fortitude/delusion - enough to suggest he would lamb-to-the-slaughter himself vs Beterbiev. I don't think he swerves this despite the brutal stoppage that awaits him...

 

I'm not sure Yarde will ever be ready it just depends on how deluded he is. It's pretty clear that the majority of people want the Bivol fight for all the marbles. Also have to consider Canelo being in the mix and whether he's prepared to wait or not I don't think he wants that smoke with Beterbiev especially after last nights demolition.

 

During the Beter interview somebody said Yarde has called Beter and Smith slow.
Yarde is clearly confident he can beat Beter with his lion speed.

I would love to see Yarde rendered unconscious at Wembley. It would be absolutely hilarious watching Yarde's Brit-rap-hop walkout and all the 'flashy flash' production and hype, hear all the Sky spin narrative about Yarde's improvements and lessons learned from the Jab-ko, only to see him smashed to pieces.

 

Yarde lasts more rounds than Smith but gets stopped mid or if he does really well late. Worst case round 3/4.
