There are different levels of draws in boxing. But let's just say a draw is somebody who can headline a major card on Cable TV.

Among active fighters the only ones who can do that are. Ward, Kovalev, Golovkin, Canelo and Pacquiao.

Forget PPV and crossing into the mainstream like DLH or Ray Leonard did.

There are hardly any fighters left who can headline a damn regular HBO card and people actually tune in to watch.

I say this is good for boxing. Because PPV is a scam. And maybe we will see more fights where the best fight the best on regular TV.

Ward Kovalev was a good match up, but it needed to be on regular HBO.

I think Joshua and Haye can do good numbers in England too. Klitschko could do whatever he wants in Germany. Got to remember how local the sport is. Koki Kameda was drawing 40 million viewers in Japan when nobody stateside had ever heard of him.

I think Thurman is actually a bigger draw than Ward, but it is just a gut feeling. I've never looked into numbers to see if I'm right.

Looks like your just talking about America. Outside of that the list would be much bigger. And ward and Kov don't belong on it, they needed a mega fight, unfortunately, to even get poor ppv numbers

Ggg Canelo and AJ are the only true draws that are bringing excitement and new fans.. pac hasn't looked better than "ok" for years and will just get weaker.

Kovalev isn't a draw nor is ward. if they rematch on regular hbo and both put better performances on they could possibly start being draws if they know how to pick their opponents.

Ward has about 5 fans. The fact him vs Kovalev was in a tiny venue says it all.

Problem #1. The heavyweight division is dead. The " champions " have taken cherry picking to a new level, and neither Wilder or Joshua have for a top ten opponent as champion. They pick top 15-50 guys by box rec ratings. are . Fight Somebody already! Pulev, Povetkin, Ortiz, and Parker are out there. Pick them, please.

Problem #2. There isn't enough money for promoters to sign the best talents in the Olympics. Boxing is tough sport to make money in. You've got to bring in young talent.

Problem #3. Boxing politics, bad judging, and failed drug tests. Boxing continues to kick itself in the nuts.

Problem #4. No one will fight GGG at middleweight. He's a big draw. Canelo needs to grow a pair.

I can agree with you on the notion that Ward-Kovalev I deserved to be on HBO WCB, it would have done better as far as viewership and the drama and controversy that surrounded the first fight would have been more appealing to boxing fans as a PPV attraction in the Rematch.

This is all in context of the USA.

#1. HW is dead in USA. Wilder is just another belt holder. So many of those failed utterly when they fight global champions.

#2. Arum, Haymon have plenty of money to sign Olympic talent. The USA Men's just isn't that good anymore at that level. When's the last time USA won a Gold? Ward?

#3. There have been as many bad decisions and failed drugs tests in UFC.

#4. GGG isn't the sport of boxing. He's not like Conor McGregor who is the ultimate talker/hyper and speaks English well to make his opponents sound stupid. Even Nate Diaz who supposedly beat him in the trash talk deparment really didnt.
