Such an illustrious boxing family, and as Lil' Floyd said, they're like America, built on controversy. That's the shortest and most true statement on the MAYWEATHER FAMILY. This content is protected Floyd "Joy" Mayweather Sr. -former WW boxer, now a trainer, Jr's at a time, now for fighters like Oscar DLH, Joan Guzman... -pro record: http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=15480&cat=boxer This content is protected Roger "Black Mamba" Mayweather -former 2-time world champion, now the trainer of Floyd Jr. and Stevie Forbes -pro record: http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=485&cat=boxer This content is protected Jeff "Jazzy" Mayweather -former LW boxer, now a trainer, trains Sultan Ibragimov and Joan Guzman for the Arthur fight -pro record: http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=1188&cat=boxer This content is protected Floyd "Pretty Boy" or "Money" Mayweather -5-division and current world WW champion, undefeated as a pro and P4P no.1 -pro record http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=352&cat=boxer What do you think of this (sometimes in)famous family? What do you think of each of the four -as a pro boxer? -as a trainer (Sr., Roger, Jeff)? -as a businessman? -as a person? Any opinion, subjective or objective, are welcomed.
floyd joy mayweather sr is the greatest trainer of all time, not this time, that time, full time, part time but of all time!
Roger is the most eloquent, waxing philosophical and drawing analogies between his nephew and another infamous powerhouse, Bill Gates.
Like Zhaakal said: you're forgetting one important Mayweather. Lehkei Mayweather This (now 3 year old) kid, son of Roger Mayweather is tipped off as the next Hall-Of-Fame Mayweather. In these videos he's only 2 years old: Here he's trying to catch Roger Mayweather and already showing good handspeed, bodywork, combinations and even faints: [yt]WeC025Kr-70[/yt] Here he's on pads with Roger Mayweather working on his accuracy and combinations. In the end he's trying powerpunches and relentlessly knock his dad Roger out (and suprisingly, even to Roger Mayweather, catches him a few time): [yt]Hwy_xOxZ0uU[/yt] [yt]KGUAICz4adI[/yt] [yt]k-r3_o6bvpY[/yt] A small segment from 24/7 eps 3 where he's now three years old: This content is protected Another small segment from 24/7 eps 3 where he's uppercutting, powerpunching, jabbing the dishwasher and then ducks and pushes it: This content is protected In this episode he also spars with Floyd Mayweather. Check it out. After seeing his skills in the ring Hatton really wanted a picture with Lehkei. In the end Roger approved. Lehkei is now thinking he has finally signed for a first fight and that Hatton is his first opponent: This content is protected As you see mentally he's not afraid and ready to fight an adult 26 years older. Rumors goes he can already beat up his 6 year old nephews (that's three years older than him!!). That's some emberrasement: as an older and heavier kid getting KTFO by your 3year old nephew. Lehkei Mayweather next future champion
"built on controversy" You got that right! Beating women, prison, dealing drugs, the list could go on for days.
Yes, but it seems it's part of their media persona... Floyd's every fight is hyped on all the trash talk, disrespecting everything, showing the money, maybe family bad blood... and after the fights Floyd Jr. is the most humble, respectful man you can find. Also he's very dedicated in the gym and always respectful for his fans if the camera is not on... So it IS based on controversy. Just look at this Big Show crap, 'it's all part of the plan'. Fits in perfectly.
