There's really not much difference between Deontay Wilder and Gennady Golovkin.

Seriously. The quality of opposition is quite similar, the power is similar (Although Wilder hits harder comparatively to their division), the boxing ability is quite similar although Golovkin is probably a tad better, they're both seen as can crushers even though I don't agree necessarily, but it's clear as they both don't have very good resumes, it's around equal. And let's not forget that these two take a pretty good punch, they have good mandibles.

But there's good upside for both men.

Golovkin has actually fought several fighters above the tomato can level. Wilder has fought exactly one, Stiverne, who was ailing at the time he failed to knock him out, illustrating how fraudulent his supposed "power" is. Chris Byrd could knock out the stiffs Wilder has padded his record with.

Wilder is a glass jawed fraud whose fragile chin is going to be exposed soon. Golovkin, while greatly overrated by some, has significantly upside and could become an ATG or HOFer.

Deontays fought a couple, including Malik/Liakhovich/Stiverne/etc

After all things considered, I gotta say, Deontay probably a tad better upside.

He's probably the more talented fighter overall if you consider everything. He's only been boxing for a couple of years, and he's already the champion. Imagine what he could have done if he started as a kid, he'd be awesome.

Still, I can see him beating Wlad/Povetkin soon.

Come on. He fought a washed up version of Liakhovich who had lost most of recent fights coming into his fight with Wilder. Malik Scott was an overrated fringe contender who some suggest lay down to give his buddy a victory and help with the hype.

Either way, while these guys are better than tomato cans like Dustin Nicholls and Harold Sconiers - both of whom had Wilder on the canvas - they don't reach the level of the sort of guys Golovkin has been fighting since he attained prominence a few years back.

I don't mind him, but he's surely not as exciting as Deontay.

Liakhovich was pretty past it but in his prime, he was quite good. And he showed up to fight and in good condition.

And Malik only lost to Chisora before he lost to Deontay in a round. People like to say he took a dive but I beg to differ. That left hook really sealed the deal. It was a great shot.

I gotta say, Deontay is on the up and up.

And i see big things coming for that man. :yep
