If you're going to call yourself "the most feared fighter" then those are the risks you have to take. Plus he'd have the same amount of time to prepare as Sergio will. p.s. It's Scratch.

I'm watching round 7 now, I had nothing against Cintron before this fight, but he came off like an ass and the fight should have been stopped. Great punch by Martinez.

Williams never call himself "the most fear fighter". And Williams never say he was better then Leonard, Ali (Like Mayweather did).

I don't like it either, but it will take this type of fight to get on HBO. I'd rather see PWilly take the cut in pay, and fight David Lopez or Zuniga at 160. That would give him another decent fight at the proper weight. However, it would probably **** HBO off, so what ya gonna do?

Yea but Williams was already in training camp preparing for another fighter (Pavlik). To prepare for another fighter just like that with a different style will make it hard. It's like training for 2 fighters on the same day.

No he's actually quite humble, but he does say that no one will fight him and Martinez who has a title has been calling him out for quite a while.

Yea he said no one will fight him but that don't mean he's said he's the most fear fighter. And you don't hear Williams say he's better then Leonard and Ali.

Williams does claim no one will fight him, and it's sort of true. No one wants to fight him except Clottey, Martinez, Dzinzurik, Quintana, Pavlik, and half a dozen others:yep

He fights nothing like Quintana. His offense is based off of his handspeed and jab...he isnt a counterpuncher...and his defense is based fully on reflex as he loves to hold his hands low, upjab and work off of that.

I hope this fight happens as Martinez deserves the shot, just as Williams deserves to actually get a fight that will happen...LOL! But I think Martinez tendency to hold his hands low against Williams hand speed and workrate will prove to be his undoing.

I got Williams by a clear UD.

Don't get me wrong I don't think Mayweather is going to slug PW and KO him in one punch. Quintana hurt PW with in and out movement and counter punching and that's what Mayweather does. Also PW has serious defensive flaws that Mayweather could pick holes in, I didn't say it's what I think could happen, I just imagine the fight being so wide for Mayweather at one point that there would be no reson to go on. Anyway that's besides the point, there's no prospect of Williams fighting Mayweather.

I had it 117-109 in favor of Martinez. I was in the small minority, however, that didn't think he scored the knockout. I thought Cintron was on his feet by a fraction of a second before the ref got to 10. It was a blowout fight though, and a boring one at that, and I have very little interest in seeing a rematch.

Martinez isn't like Quintana at all, to whoever said that, other than that they're both southpaws, but pretty much every decent fighter at 154 is a southpaw right now. Santos or even Dzinziruk is a lot closer to Quintana than Martinez, and Dzinziruk isn't all that similar either (although he does have the capability to counterpunch).

As for Cintron, Williams-Cintron makes more sense than Williams-Martinez, as Cintron fights a lot more like a low workrate version of Pavlik, but it doesn't look like that one is in the cards.

Martinez movement, speed and jab is like that of Quintana. Only Q is a better counterpuncher. There styles are simular. So one holds there hands down. Not much of a difference.
