Its the Hype...Im not hating ...its the getting carried away when the guy has only proven in the pros are hes got fast hands... Listen to lennox and Max again...they pointed out the flaws of Gamboa even before the fight started..and lo and behold he got tagged a few times early...theres a reason his trainer got canned..this is not good for his future ..Hes 26...people are fighting for the belt at 26.... As far as ramirez...Ill put it this way..Ramirez was put in there for Gamboa to win in a very impressive dominant fashion just like last time..thats all it was ..Ramirez had no right looking impressive in that ring..if this was to be the second coming of RJJ. Ramirez matched him speed for speed both were missing alot...A guy like Molitor (if he were to move up) will pick him apart..im starting to believe that Linares will do the same and no his chin is not china and his recuperative powers are very good..but biy he got hit alot and if it wasnt for the sheer speed and volume..he missed alot as well
That's exactly the point. They chose Ramirez because they thought it was really a nobody with nice stats, as us. The thing is, Ramirez had quality on him and you can't say such thing as he has no right to look impressive. If the man is good he is good, you can do nothing about it. It's like saying the best boxer shouldn't allow the other one to be good. YES, most of the time ring rust is bad for boxers. However it is not a rule. You don't know, maybe the way he trained for this fight was 10x more intense than everything he ever did before so he was 10x a better fighter than he was a year ago. Anyway, no excuses for Gamboa, he does need to improve his defence or, as someone else mentionned, just get back to his natural defense style based on speed (not the best option but still better than this "in-between". But saying that he fought a simple "journeyman" with no skills is not fair and true.
Look I was shocked when he matched Gamboa with speed..but remember..it was the first round..as you saw..the difference in pedigree..Gamboa maintained the speed while Ramirez slowed down...the man was simply not in his class
Oh yeah, Gamboa is vulnerable for elbow shots. atsch Yeah, you told us... he has no chin for elbows... well... he wasn't KO'd by the illegal shot right on the button so you're obviously not that smart lol. :hi:
Gamboa's a hype job......not to say his talent he doesn't have talent but.......the guys seriously overhyped, wake up folks
Overhyped. His chin is suspect, and you guys are are blind that say "it was elbow" he was rocked by 2-3 shots before elbow landed. I saw Khan in him for a moment, too offensive minded.
