Not like Calzaghe is Presscott is it. Calzaghe didn't just score a freak KO against a green/chinny guy who isn't ATG material anyway. It's Hopkins fault the fight didn't happen earlier. People forget it's Hopkins who was the bad style match up for Calzaghe (he's great against south paws). Even a shot Calzaghe beats Pascal anyway.
A shot ALI was suppose to be able to beat a prime Trevor Berbick...but we all know what happened there. The only one that can be blamed for Joe's career is Joe. Joe made up for lost time that he spent fighting soft touches in his back yard...avoiding REAL challenges during his prime years by coming to the US to fight AGING legends. And even these AGING legends were better than 99% of the rest of his opponents that made up his ring record at the time. I'm just happy Joe didn't let his career and talent go to waste by deciding to continue fighting B level guys for the remainder of his career. But with that said.....Joe did NOT give his legacy the opportunity to live up to its full potential. Just like Floyd Mayweather. Great fighters with VERY GOOD resumes.
Cycling is NOT boxing....Plus Lance like other GREATS in their own right defy odds, logic and understanding. THere's no way a guy in their 40's is suppose to be able to compete with men in their 20s yet Nard and Lance have. How many OTHER 40 yrs olds are doing that? It's a testament to the fact that there are "Special" athletes in the world.
Hopkins is the one who ducked Calzaghe and fought bums at middle. Calzaghe fought the best when he had a big name and there was too much money on the table to duck him.
