These two guys (don't) REALLY dislike one another....

    Since forever we have heard variations on the following theme: "This is no promotional gimmick, these two have a genuine dislike for one another etc, etc, etc, and so on, and so forth..." I have also heard some fighters say something akin to "I don't do this fake stuff, if you see me at a press conference trying to hit dude, it is for real. Some of these guys actually are faking their supposed dislike of an opponent and will talk before hand and plan out together what they will say to each other...."
    So, anyone here know of any fights/fighters that likely faked their supposed extreme disliking of one another?

    Wait are you asking for examples of fake or true hatred between fighters

    Either way I'll try to list a few

    True hatred:

    1. Fitzsimmons vs Corbett
    2. Frazier vs Ali
    3. Mayweather vs Pacquiao

    Fake Hatred:

    1. Brezeale vs Wilder
    2. Galento vs Baer
    3. Haye vs anyone
    4. Eubank vs Benn

    I'm still undecided on Briggs vs Wlad. I feel like it started off fake (and still is fake on Briggs' side) but Wlad has grown to truly resent him

    I thought Wilder and Fury started off as fake as they trash talked while showing respect at the same time like Mates do. But then I think Fury started to press Wilders buttons and started turning into actual hatred..at least on Wilders part.

    Haye seemed like he had fake hatred for everyone too

    Strongly disagree about Eubank and Benn. That was genuine dislike coming from Benn. Eubank to a lesser extent

    I hate the trash talk between fighters.

    Does it really sell tickets??

    I would be far more interested in seeing a fight between two boxers who talk respectfully about each other.

    Because in doing so, they're building each other up and making the fight more appealing.

    As far as genuine dislike goes I would include Robinson and Basilio, Ali and Terrell.

    I wouldn't include Ali and Frazier because I never got the impression that Ali really disliked Frazier. It was mind games and he was trying to get under Frazier's skin and succeeded.

    People laughed at the jokes Ali made at Frazier's expense and being a man who loved attention, it encouraged Ali to do it even more.

    Mayweather and everyone he fought. Pre fight they are the worse thing ever to him. can't box can't fight. Post fight he has the generic answer: "He's a helluva fighter."


    I would say Joel Casamyor didn't really dislike Corrales, but I tend to think Diego didn't like him. Last fight Joel wanted to go, great fight man, to which Corrales was like...dude get away from me!

    Huh, I always felt like he was just trying to hype the fight tbh. I don't think Benn ever tried to hurt Eubank?

    Because Pac still hates Mayweather and has legitimate reason to, May piggybacks on Pac's success every single time he's newsworthy and then says he's the only reason why Pac is newsworthy. Benn and Eubank are friends now

    Really? I have never really watched what the link takes you too, that being a reality show that's often used in YT boxing channel vids that are made on the rivalry. This is more than an hr long so I will not be watching it. So, if the anger shown throughout this is genuine, they were not yet "friends" in 2003
