These "Usyk is too small for HW" threads need to stop

Size does matter after all huh. How many inches are we talking about here ?

Looks like the concern is power, not size.

No idea. Feel free to dismiss it as sparring rumours if you like. Usyk's got plenty more verified accolades to fall back on.

 

I don't much care about it. It was one more thing to throw out there as to why I don't feel he'll have a problem adjusting to HW.

Proof will ultimately be in the performances of course, then all this back and forthing will be moot.

 

Can't say I was impressed with Usyk last night, he was getting hit a LOT with straight shots against a poorly conditioned heavyweight with pretty slow hands. I've never really got the hype with this guy, he's got a great great engine ans decent chin and the heart and will of a lion, but his short comings are severe lack of power and being easy to hit.

I think he'll struggle massive at heavy, imo cruiser was a weak division despite what the fan boys say. Watching him struggle with Breidis told me everything I need to know.

 

I thought he was doing OK against Briedis until he ate that monstrous uppercut. He was comprehensively outboxed and stopped by Povetkin.
