Looks like a typical WNBA player. Frans Botha is a slick African G. That was even making Tyson like a fool until he was leveled by one thuderous shot.
Come on Botha you can do this tommorow night. Win this and a real big fight is within sight! The Buffalo will truely be roaming the heavyweight division! Cannot find any news on this fight at all. Any French ESB members got any news? Weigh in? Or anything?
I can't find anything either :? I reckon Botha needs to go for the early KO here. Takam's never been in with anyone of his class and Botha can overwhelm him early on. If it goes beyond 6/7 rounds though, I can see Botha tiring and Takam taking a narrow decision or possibly even a late stoppage like in the Grant fight.
Takam won TKO11. Late stoppage just like I predicted :good I reckon Botha just can't last 12 rounds anymore, he should retire but if he does want to continue he should fight over 6/8 rounds.
Time to retire botha! I havent seen the fight and i dont care even if botha was leading on the scorecards like in the grant fight! Bottom line is botha cant go 12 rounds! If he continues he will get badly hurt!
Apparently Botha looked good in the early rounds but by round 5 Takam had the upper hand and would probably have taken it on the cards anyway. Botha should retire, if he does want to continue he should only fight 8 rounders max.
Sad news for the Buffalo and his fans. Still no footage of the fight, or weights, but I did find this video that shows a split second of the weigh in and so you can see what kind of shape he was in roughly. It also includes a quick questionaire with Botha. Enjoy: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ym28DnYe78[/ame]
Another fight for Botha against a European prospect! 10 rounds with 27 y/o Francesco Pianeta (25-0-1) on May 16 in Frankfurt! Pianeta isn't great from what I've seen on him, a bit feather-fisted. He picked up good wins against top 100 fighters like Gammer, Duhaupas and Skelton as well as a draw with Sosnowski but then his career was put on hold when he was diagnosed with cancer in 2009. He came back a year later and has had five fights against journeymen since recovering. Botha is probably his biggest test yet. An on-form Botha could take this. Plus the fight is over 10 rounds which will suit Botha as in his last two fights he has been stopped in the 11th and 12th, so it's likely the fight will go the distance, especially against the feather-fisted Pianeta. I fancy the White Buffalo to take this. WAR BOTHA!!! :bbb
Agreed. I think he had a good chance against this chap! Ten rounds could just be the key thing. GO BOTHA! Always comes to fight!
