They should at least give him something!!, he did'nt take a licking for nothing, take half of the money, or a quarter or something. Also, where does that money go?
Would be nice if something comes out of it. As bad as they are, Klitschko's opponent usually did better job as some of them deserved their titleshots (I mean, compared to Harrison), and some of them try to work on their money by trying to win or at least to survive. And still they usually get far worse money (AFAIR both Sosnowski and Briggs got rougly 750kE).
Well he sure didnt earn anything in the ring. If I showed up for work and didnt do anything I wouldnt get paid and I would get fired on top of that. I dont think I have ever seen anything like that in a professional HW title fight and we have seen some stinkers in the last 10 yrs, Haye vs Valuev and Wlad vs Ibragimov.
To take the mans earning away from him would be, in my humble opinion, a grave injustice. Yes, he put in a pathetic effort, yes he talked his way into a world title fight, yes he is a con man, but, there is something seriously uncompassionate about withdrawing his fight purse. The man froze on the biggest stage of his life. Is that a crime? Lets just leave him alone and let him live his life. He's the one who has to live with what happened.
Do you risk your life at work? Is your line of work exposed to millions of the general public? Don't get me wrong. What we witnessed on Saturday was appaling to say the least. However, what i will say is, Harrison has got serious issues. It was like watching a man completely unfold and have a mental breakdown live on T.V.
If they are going to withold the purse give everyone a partial refund then....... Assuming they do withhold or keep it, who then gets the money? Afterall the fight was sold and generated on the premise of Haye vs Harrison. As much as he deserves all the **** I just dont see why anyone else except Audley gets to keep the money.
He's a;ways been like that, so he must have had about 40 recurring breakdowns by now. HE is the one who told everyone it was his destiny, HE was the one who spent 10 weeks telling everyone YES I CAN, David Hayes getting knocked out, and HE was the one who said the fights going to be over when he lands his left hand. HE wanted this opportunity, in fact he pushed for it. Then he was the guy who landed one punch, didnt even throw his left hand in 3 rounds, and made no effort at all to win. Was he waiting for destiny to knock David Haye out. For someone to be handed that kind of opportunity, and not give it every single thing they have, is unforgivable. To give it as little as he gave it is as pathetic as it gets, as he gave winning no chance at all, so he was just there to be paid. That means he cheated everone who went, or watched on TV, and so he should get enough to cover expenses and pay his staff, and the rest be donated to help the heros. Guys who really do put their lives on the line. Audley should make nothing from that debacle.
Bad person to ask that question to, I am an ex boxer/military and on top of that was in the fire dept. So yes, a lot of people risk their lives at their jobs and we dont get paid over a million ever in our lives. The pay should fit the risk. In this case it doesnt.
You just insulted every soldier, police officer, fireman and on top of that real boxers who actually fight in the ring. They should take a least a portion/majority of his purse.
