The fans were cheated but not by Audley Harrison

Who promoted the fight? HAYEMAKER PROMOTIONS.

 

I think he was actually paid 1.5 million pounds sterling! Thats what Haye reported anyway.

Then they should take away 50% of Team Haye's earning. Afterall, as mentioned, Audley Harrison is not the victim in this. He was totally out of his depth.

I mean, they want him to sell the fight. Whats he supposed to say? 'This fight is a farce, don't buy it. I have no chance'. His job was to convince the public it was a 50/50 fight. Which he did. Which is why Haye has jumped to his defence in regards to payment.

 

Should they also take away 50% of the Klitschko's earnings for digging up Briggs and taking on a hapless, painfully unqualified Derek Chisora?

 

Exactly. Doing so would open up a whole can of worms.

 

I personally don't think that Audley Harrison should have his pay cheque taken away after what happened on Saturday. During his pro career, Harrison has never beaten a genuine world-class opponent and he didn't deserve a shot at Haye's belt. He's frozen in the ring before, just like in his first fight with Danny Williams, and there was always the real possibility that he would do it again. Haye knew it, SKY TV must have known it and the fans should too. Everyone went into this fight with their eyes open. Harrison could brag all he wanted about his so-called destiny but when that first bell rang he would either freeze again or just go for it and throw caution to the wind. He froze, and it should really be no surprise. I paid to see this fight live and I was just looking forward to seeing Harrison get flattened, so I got my money's worth. Maybe he needed to get iced one more time just to convince himself that he can't cut it as a pro.

But remember this: with a nice pay cheque Harrison can waltz off into retirement and never bother us again. If his money is taken away, he may be forced to fight on and we'll have to endure more of his annoying ring appearances!

I think they should just ban boxing. It's the only way to be sure that something like this won't happen again.

 

How is that cheating the fans? He told them exactly what was going to happen!
