They are working on Pavlik vs Kessler in Atlantic City for April or May

if this fight came off Kessler would ICE Pavlik. just not a good style matchup. Kesslers 1-2 is better the PAvlik. his uppercut is better, JAb, left hook, power. just about everything.

 

who is Pavlik not fighting in the next few months. I have heard Ward,Abraham,Bute and now Kessler.

 

Kessler is a good fight for Pavlik and Bute is even better. Froch would beat Pavlik and Ward really would beat Pavlik.

 

Would rather see Froch-Kessler & Abraham / Bute / Pavlik.

 

I have to seriously and strongly disagree with anyone giving Pavlik a shot in this fight.

Pavlik has never been as good as someone like Mikkel, even in his better days. Pavlik has deteriorated more than Mikkel aswell and Kessler would stop him in the mid rounds in pretty emphatic fashion to me, possibly on cuts. He's too fluid, too accurate, throws his combinations almost perfectly and that jab would ice Pavlik.

I don't see any way for Pavlik to win this fight. You beat Kessler by taking advantage of his lack of inside game, and Kelly's infighting ability is pretty poor aswell. Kessler keeps the fight at mid-long range and is just too accurate and too powerful. I see Pavlik taking a pretty fearful beating and being battered into retirement. Cuts stoppage in the mid rounds with him looking like a mess.

If Froch doesn't get the Kessler fight next and is forced to fight Bute, i'd seriously fear for Lucian aswell. Froch wants the Kessler rematch as much as any fighter has ever wanted a fight and if he's forced to fight someone else, they would seriously feel every ounce of his pain and frustration at not getting the fight he craves.

If Bute and Pavlik take on Froch and Kessler respectively next up, they can kiss their health and careers goodbye imo.

 

Kessler would annihilate him. Pavlik wouldn't even have a highly unlikely punchers chance like he would against Bute.

He hasn't beaten a top fighter in almost 5 years. He hasn't looked impressive in the cans he's been fighting since his loss to Martinez. His drinking has been well documented for the last few years. He's done.

It's not nice pointing out those things because it ****ing tragic to see a 30 year old like that but it's the reality. Some people just don't want to accept it and will bury their head in the sand.

 

Well if it works like that then great but I fear the "final" wouldn't happen.

What has happened to Dirrell? Promising boxer gone missing. Think he'd give Ward problems bit doesn't want to earn a fight against his mate.

 

Well, looks like Kessler/Froch just fell through. Ward is out. Damned. Still I somehow have a hard time believing this fight will come to pass after years of talk about it.

 

Kessler will beat that ass.

 

So Pavlik would KO Kessler? That is a very strange thought. WTF?

Kessler wins this by UD/TKO or brutal KO. Cant see it going anywhere else.

Sauerland is btw wise in making this move, as it would raise Kesslers TV value highly in a rematch with Ward.

And Kessler can then retire after going toe to toe with Froch in Nottingham, with Froch winning a small hometown UD.
