Machida is an excellent MMA guy.

At least he does mostly pin point stand up striking, rather than "boring" grappling and wrestling that some people here hate.

lol well done, you managed to find one of the most boring UFC fights out there. You could as easilypost some SPinks or Ruiz videos...atleast this one is only 9min, a boring boxing fight can last 36min, long enough to literally put you to sleep.

LMAO. What a joke...Took them 2 minutes before anybody even made any kind of contact. Also, Evans looked like a joke as well.

I respect MMA and it's fighters, but I prefer boxing.. this isn't the best example of an MMA fight though...Conversly i'm sure some random MMA fan on another forum could show a terrible boxing match and use that as an edictment against the whole of boxing aswell..

well this fight was expected to be boring, It's machida's style. I like watching UFC sometimes but only for the bigger fights. I do hate all the sudden nuthuggers who diss boxing. Boxing is and always will be the best. a real man's sport. to me as soon as the fight hits the ground and submissions begin i get bored out of my mind.

Same with that Silvia vs some dude fight from awhile back, I think there were numerous 1-2 minutes stints of absolutely no contact.:dead

The fighting took that long to "start" because everybody knows what happens when you try to fight aggressively against Machida. You get hit.

He's a good, defensive, counterpuncher, it's his best attribute. And his opponents are wary of him and his reputation already.

If the other guy fought Machida like a wildman, he probably would have been KO'd much earlier.

So in a fight if a guy gets you in a headlock you turn around and say, "hey that's not manly and its boring, let me go"?

MMA like boxing has its appeal, its rooted from our very basic instinct of violence and fighting. I don't really follow the sport but it gets my respect...they're fighters. You can be a fan of one without dissing the other.

dude in an actual fight it is very unlikely someone is gonna resort to a headlock, a fight usually arises out of anger from both parties, and the last thing i want to do is pretty much hug someone till they quit. i want to knock em the **** out. i have respect for the jiu jitsu guys and all because i know it takes alot of skill, but it's just not appealing to me. when you have to resort to a submission, it's usually because you suck at striking, which is what actual fighting is. a submission to me is comparable to someone just grabbing your balls and squeezing as hard as possible until you quit. it's more of a self defense thing. but hey it's just my opinion.

I box so I know how to strike, doesnt stop someone from grabbing me and slamming me into the ground though. That's the beauty of the sport, can I knock them out before they get close to grab me? There's so much more angles to it.

Your analogy is BS. 90% of fights end up on the ground....only girls resort to kicking a man in the balls.

Saw one event only and a few flashes of other events on those sites that host after boxing events, most boring crap ever. I'd rather watch chicken fighting as it's more fun than the human version.

You cant get more exciting than 2 boxers slugging it out and i believe you need more skill to be a successful boxer, you can be good at MMA if your just some thug off the street. Tell me an MMA fight ever that was more exciting than Chico vs Loco 1

There two different sports... I wish people would stop comparing.

    Like comparing squash and tennis

Boxing never gave a damn about that "sport", it's the people there who started talking down on boxing and boxing has been here longer than they ever will.

I would consider that rubbish which is inspired by WWE a sport. Legal elbows, punches to the balls, chokes. That's no sport, that's a glorified street fight.
