The UFC is as exciting as a John Ruiz or Shannon Briggs fight.

No, boring is Pac-Barrera II and watching Pac versus inferior fighters. That is boring. In MMA, there are truly very few artists who have mastered the art of martial arts. Most of those MMA guys are former college wrestlers who are just learning jiu jitsu. That is what you saw last night...a real fighter in Machida taking on a guy who wrestled and played football.

Yeah, and I would call them stupid just like you. You are a bandwagon PAc fan and a full time MMA fan and nothing more. Standing and trading with a guy who wants you to do that in boxing is suicide...in the MMA, you probably have a 50-50 chance to win. Opting to out box him...lol, that is the most comical, assinine post of the year by you lol...

    :deal agreed.

2 things caught my attention here:

    1. My counter went over 3 minutes with like one punch "might" have landed.

    2. LOOK at the got damn sponsors!! Bud Light?? Harley Davidson?? Burger Kiing?? amongst others, but those are HUGE! and it sucks they won't back boxing with that type of $$$$ from sponsors.

FNF's gets KFC and Just for Men hair color! Got dayum watchin' FNF's and Just for Men after every 3 minute round!:rofl

Bandwagon Pac fan? Maybe so, but Ive been on this bandwagon for years and if it crashes, will still be on it.

I never said that's what they should do, it was a comparison. Mexicanmuscle thinks submitting the much bigger & stronger Lesnar is not manly because he used skill over strength, I made a comparison to how some people may think not trading with a much bigger puncher is not manly too. Obviously I dont think that way as the whole basis of my post is to defend the idea of using skill over strength, but you are a twat and cannot read so I'll leave you to it

both boxing and mixed martial arts are great sports. boxing is superior currently due to the history behind it and how much it has developed. if you look back in the early 1900s of boxing many boxers had poor technique, similar to many mixed martial artists currently. there are only a few mixed martial artists who i can think of who are truly complete fighters. in maybe 10-15 years you will never see unskilled brawlers and one dimensional wrestlers on the elite stage of mixed martial arts and it will be on the same level as boxing, skill wise. you will see many exciting fights!

I watch sometimes, but after they go to the ground I usually shut it off *which is almost EVERY fight* I really don't see what the big deal is about the UFC, the only thing different about it from any other sport is BJJ. Other than that it's only sloppy boxing, and maybe a fraction of mui thai.

Here is what makes a case for MMA ..Its fights like Machida Evans ..2 undefeated fighters both in their prime fighting for a title in the same weight class ..How long do these type of fights take to get done in boxing ?

Thank you lol. A real MMA match would be Cung Lee and Machida(probably not the same weight). Evans was a former wrestler and football player. The Machida-Evans fight showed what a skilled guy does to a non skilled guy. Check Evans and Machida's backgrounds. That wasn't a top of the line fight. It was perceived that way. Once those guys go to the ground, I start to feel uneasy seeing two guys all hugged up like that.

Wrestling has it's place, and so does MMA's. Combining them, and then saying it is the closest thing to a street fight is a lie. Dangerosuity says that only girls kick in the balls lol... Every last poster here who had a street fight knows that you will do anything to win a fight, and that you can't do that in the sport of MMA. Back in the day you could, but the MMA has rules now.

I respect UFC but i just love boxing way more. If the guys can slug it out standing in MMA ill enjoy it. But when it goes to the ground it does get a bit boring.

Ironic since i practice BJJ as well as boxing. i guess its more of a "i like to do it and practice it but i hate to watch it" type of thing. Boxing will always be number 1 but like i said i respect MMA and i expect them to respect boxing as well.

If you have ever been in the gym with a jiu jitsu expert, you might lose respect for what you see in UFC/MMA fights. There are too many mismatches, and too much wrestling. If you don't submit a guy early, say in a minute in a half... make the guys stand up. We want to see mixed martial arts, not wrestling.

I see jiujitsu as a last resort for when someone takes you down. Ill try to keep the match on my feet as much as possible and look for the KO NOT the submission.
