Would be great if someone finally becomes undisputed with all the belts unified.
I think the structure should be like this, at the moment these are the beltholders:
    -ibf:zavec
    -wbo:pacquiao
    -wba: senchenko
    - wbc: berto

First half of the tournament should have all the lower guys in it:
-zavec vs malignaggi(fight that might happen)
    - Senchenko vs Alvarez
the winners face of, so 1 guy emerges as a finalist

The second part fo the tournament
    pacquiao vs mosley
    Berto vs Marquez

Winners face off, numbers 1 from both sides face of for the undisputed welterweight crown.
Could get a lot of attention and a nice talent/ rocky underdog feeling to the whole thing.

the super 6 worked in theory cause it was 6 fighters who never had huge limelight. you dont seriously think pacquiao would get involved in this do you?

And don't forget: the fight between Pacman and a shot Marquez will be in the Phillippines, where the friendly crowd will urge Pacquiao to get the KO:bbb

Why? We already know who the 2 best welterweights are. The only fight that needs to happen is between them.

A tournament like that, the chances of all 4 belts continuously being on the line without somebody being stripped for not facing a mando is unlikely. And at the end, Pacquiao would win and just retire and vacate all the belts anyway.

I think this thread has brought up a very interesting mindset of boxing fans. Here we have an idea to put the top welterweights in a tournament (ala best fighting the best), and the immediate responses are negative and people don't want to see it.

While I'm not saying this tournament would or wouldn't work, just pause and think: Yes, Pacquiao and Mayweather are the two best welters out there, but to dust off some old cliche boxing quotes "Styles make fights", "Anything can happen", and "A boxer is only half an inch away from disaster".

I understand boxing is a business, but it is also meant to be a sport. So on one hand part of the criticism is that the best arent facing the best like other sports, then on the other we say well the the top two shouldn't have to face the rest.

Boxing needs new ideas, yet fans have this counter-productive mindset when it comes to the evolution of the sport.

That would be impossible. Plus, I really have very little interest in the possibility of seeing Pacquiao-Zaveck or Pacquiao-Senchenko. Then again, I have very little interest in Pacquiao-Mosley as well.
