Rigo's quality speaks by itself.Only 9 fights and already holding a belt.He was shy against Cordoba and ppl started doubting him, since then he's been more aggressive dismantling Casey in 1 rd and Rico in 6 rds.
Almost impossible to hit,out of this world defense.Hard puncher, master of the liver shot.
Hard to ignore Rigo as a favorite. There is a reason why Arum don't want him to fight Nonito.

Donaire only have 2 SD victories and a UD loss.. And the rest was TKO/KO and UD.. But we all know that he's better than what his record suggest.. :hey

    Donaire against Mares.. :think

Donaire will try to control the fight using his jab.. Mares will try to pressure Donaire and corner him into the ropes.. But Donaire's handspeed and feet are faster and would counter him all night long.. Mares doesn't have a decent defense to cover himself while he's pushing forward which he always does every time he fights.. Can't also see him defending himself while Donaire is unleashing some bombs.. Mares doesn't hit harder than Montiel or even Darchinyan, which will definitely give Donaire the advantage.. Donaire will take the risk of opening up and inviting Mares to come in, then he'll hit Mares like Mares haven't hit before.. :deal

Can't see Mares winning that fight.. :smoke

Here is what I have said about Rigondeaux..

He needs to take on some names who are recognized as quality opponents.. :smoke

Donaire wants a piece of Lopez back then when Lopez was still undefeated.. Arum did not give it to him.. :deal
Donaire wants a piece of Gamboa who is a lot better than Rigo, and Arum won't give it to him..

Same goes with the other fighters.. They just want to catch the bigger fish.. That's all.. :hey

Donaire calling out featherweights when he hasn't even dominated SBW ,why?
Because are fights he knows don't make sense.
The only fights competitive for him right now at 122 are; rigo, nishioka and mares...but he's going after the old Mijares and Arce

    It came from you.. :smoke

Its not actually his own choice.. Its his promoter's choice.. :deal

If Donaire can book his own fights, he'll fight Gamboa first.. Gamboa is a lot better than the guys @122 and he is not afraid to face him.. Makes sense.. :smoke

Nishioka would be competive, but I don't really think Mares and Rigondeaux will be.. :hey

I think he feels safe calling out Gamboa because knows old bob is watching his back. Why looking for Gamboa if rigo is right there? Same promoter, same division and a belt to unify.
We can speculate as much as we want, but they need to prove in the ring who is best.Rigo is ready.

We can say the same thing about Rigo.. :smoke

Of course I also would like to see Donaire against Rigondeaux, but the sad thing is. . . its not in our hands.. :-(

I like Moreno, Rigo, and Donaire. Moreno may not have a ton of power, but the guy has great skills and is very sharp, elusive and accurate.

Rigo's gonna be a wild card with his power + speed and counter punching. Moreno vs. Rigo would be an interesting chess match.

Donaire's gotta be the favorite IMO, but he can't get caught up trying to KO these guys.

I went with Guillermo Rigondeaux, as I believe he has the greatest skills and biggest punch in that field. It would be a great tournament though. :bbb

It all depends on who's going to land the first fight ending blow..

Is it Donaire's left hook to the face, or Rigo's left to the body..

I still go for Donaire here.. :smoke
