I think it's disrespectful to the sport. I feel like the fight was a draw, but with the knockdown, Kovalev edged the fight. At the very worst, it was a draw, but they shouldn't have taken that man's belts away. This is why people don't like boxing. And you know damn well when there is a disputed decision, there is a STRONG possibility that there will be no rematch. I think Ward will win the rematch, but he lost the first fight.
im so used to it by now i expect the winner to get robbed ha when they said perez-hooker was a draw i was expecting it
My thing is this. If it wasn't for Kovalev, there wouldn't have been a fight in the first place. Kovalev took $2 million when Ward took $5 million. You know damn well it wouldn't have happened if this was reversed. So then Kovalev goes out there and does his job, and gets robbed for it. For real, **** boxing. This is the type of **** that I'm sick of. **** these undefeated records. They are all bull****.
I don't think Kovalev lost any stock in this fight. If there is a rematch I hope they compensate him well.
i used to be die hard boxing fan . now im just a fan thats hanging on by a thread. that decision jst doesnt sit well with me.
Agreed. All this to make it happen and have your belts taken away from the fight you have more of an argument for winning. Sucks.
This isn't why people don't like boxing. There are a number of reasons why boxing isn't more popular but this isn't one of them. Face it, bad decisions happen in every combat sport, and everyone bitches and moans whenever they happen; same as when bad decisions get handed down by the officials of the more popular sports.
The question I have is this. How many of the fans that are so upset were rooting for Kovalev and how many were being an objective observer? It seems that the Kovalev fans and Ward haters are really upset! Just curious! Personally I didn't see a robbery!
