Was the 20ft ring not enough? Seems they also wanted to sponge the canvas to limit his movement even further.

Shows how confidant team Wilder were going into a fight against the remnants of a 400lb man.

Imagine how quickly Fury would have bounced back up if that was the surface.

Dear oh dear. I guess the fact that Fury hadn't fought anyone with a pulse in 3 years, was totally inactive for 2.5 years, abused the hell out of his body with industrial quantities of alcohol, drugs and junk food all throughout his inactivity, ballooned up to over 400lbs and had to shed 140lbs of it back off, and had been battling depression/mental illness, suicidal thoughts, came close to topping himself, and looked like garbage in his 2 tune ups against scrubs wasn't enough advantage for them for their cherry pick that backfired big time?

And now this on top of all that?

But it gets even worse. Donkey needed even more advantages over this drug-ravaged inactive shell of Fury. He had his spies in Fury's camp relaying information back to him as well.

'It’s unusual to hear of a boxer leaving a training camp at high altitude in order to find somewhere a little easier on the lungs, but that’s exactly what Tyson Fury has chosen to do, switching from Big Bear to the Wild Card, ahead of his December 1 WBC world heavyweight title fight against Deontay Wilder.

Fury and his coach, Ben Davison, will no doubt have their reasons for doing so. Perhaps, in their view, the altitude training they did do was sufficient – job done – and relocating was the wise choice as training camp started to wind down. Perhaps a change of scenery was required.

Opponent Wilder, however, sees – or should that be hears? – only negatives.

“He could not handle the heat and the altitude,” the 33-year-old American said. “He was so high up over there that he could not breathe.

“I have trained in Colorado and it’s similar, you cannot breathe up there. I lived, ran and sparred up there and it was hard when you are not used to it.

“That is why he has had to come down to sea level to have the best chance in this fight. Just being up there for two weeks isn’t going to be enough time to prepare for me. Either you have stamina, or you don’t.

“Most guys go to Big Bear to get their lungs to expand so that when they go back down to sea level they can breathe differently.”

Given the vast distance separating the two heavyweights, it’s surprising to hear Wilder knows so much about Fury’s whereabouts and the decisions behind moving from one location to another.

Then again, mind games and machinations are by now as synonymous with heavyweight boxing as knockouts and muffin tops.

“It’s funny, everything he has done or is doing, I have known about,” admitted Wilder. “He is in my country. I have eyes and ears everywhere.

“I have friends all over the world and when people love you, they love you and they go all the way for you.

“Once you connect with one person, they help you connect with others. Then you just have to wait for a phone call.”

With that foam Fury wouldn't have hit his head so hard in the 12th.

Size of the ring could favour Deontay Wilder
Deontay Wilder’s team get their wish

IT has been revealed that Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury will do battle on Saturday in a 20ft ring, which is 4ft smaller than the maximum permitted size.

It was in a 24ft ring that Fury dethroned world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in 2015. On that famous night, the Briton – who is at his best boxing off the back foot – used every centimetre to outpoint the Ukrainian after winning pre-fight arguments about the gloves and ring canvas.

Against Wilder, though, Fury will have to work his magic in a smaller ring.

The size of the battleground was decided, upon Team Wilder’s request, during the negotiation period to seal the WBC heavyweight title fight.

The smaller the ring, the harder it will be for Fury to slip and slide is way out of trouble.

To be fair to Wilder his team was right to insist on a 20ft ring. Wilder would've looked twice as bad if it was a 24 ft ring and most likely wouldn't have scored any knockdowns.

Sick of this BS in boxing, ever wondered why AJ and Wilder can talk about them meeting up in the future even when they have other opponents in the meantime?heres the answer, they try and control everything that’s in their power,so stuff like ring size, bouncy castles and finding a judge they can pay off are all fair game as far as they’re concerned and we as boxing fans don’t matter.
Quite frankly I’m not interested in supporting anyone who has such protection and Wilder,AJ and Canelo are at the very top of that list.
Compare them to someone like Spence or Usyk that we’re prepared to risk everything in another country.

Fighters who need stacked decks and every advantage that can be wangled in their favour before they'll sign on the dotted line are simply not real fighting men. And there's no sight more abhorrent and repugnant to a real fighting man like myself and my gypsy brethren than men who are not real fighting men.
