All six opponents are landmines and the goal is for Hrgovic to lose in order to get him out of the way because he is unprofitable from a marketing point of view. Now the pressure is real on him and he has to remain stable to convince everyone that he can be a champion.
I agree, to get him out of the way out of undisputed + undisputed rematch + Joshua undisputed match, there is to much money involved, and we are talking about hundreds of millions cumulative.
All Dubois needs to do is to survive 12 rounds, he wins controversial split Decision and everyone forgets it in 2 months. Classic.
All six are names that a Heavyweight Kingpin champion is supposed to beat. So if he can’t do that it doesn’t bode well if he becomes champion. Then again he is supposed to fight for the IBF Worldtitle but they are putting him into a holding pattern. If he isn’t careful he will become the next Dillian Whyte.
He should want a challenge after the bums he has been feasting on, they won’t do him much good vs the top boys and he has enough to win if he fights to his potential.
Nah the Saudi's just want good match ups to get their money's worth the only exception being Joshua because he draws no matter what. Just see the list of fighters Parker was offered before picking Zhang and prior to that when he picked Wilder. Dubois isn't beating any version of Hrgovic and Miller is even worse, either of those opponents are guaranteed wins.
Hrgovic is clearly the most avoided fighter in the division and would give big problems to anyone even Fury and Usyk
Maybe he should fight Marc De Mori again then. Seriously these are all good opponents. Apart from fat boy Miller. All Hrgovic has on his resume in terms of meaningful wins is a very close win over Zhang (draw in my view). He should be glad to be given a choice of decent fighters to face. Quite bizarre to see this as some sort of conspiracy.
They can want him to lose but this not happend. He beat before last bells Miller and Dubois. Kabayel, Sanchez and Bakole probably too but they got bigger chance to survive. Anderson would be KO too. He was pretty bad heart by Martin who can clean shoes for Filip.
They want to make good fights, if they were desperate for Hrgovic to lose they wouldn’t have had him fight that Home and Away extra last time out.
Pretty much this. They don't really care if Hrgovic loses or not... If he loses he'll be out of the belt picture, which won't bother them because he's very low profile with casuals (and casuals are the majority of eyes on). If he wins, it'll raise his profile massively - and then he'd be much more saleable and they won't mind that. It's almost a win-win for them - and as long as he's confident of coming out of it well, there's not much reason to object.
Landmines? Every fight for every boxer should be a landmine. Fans obsessions with tune ups and gimmes baffles me.
