26 Years.. Been boxing for more than 2 years now.. Took a break for a month because of office pressure and resumed training only this Monday. Yet to get a fight and this novice fight is coming up on the 20th , 21st and they wouldn't let me fight since some old guy has come back to training during my break. Only one can participate from a club and we both are light fly weights. I cant move up also, as, all other weight classes are full. :scaredas: Dont know why I'm even posting this.. I hate, whatever is happening.. This cannot be bad luck.. Man.. This is something else.. :|
Did you just disappear from the club or did you tell your coach what was up and promise to stay on top of your road work? Might be the coach/club counting on the other guys commitment to the program. Do you spar with the guy? Are you competitive with or better than him? If the guy is the legit "best pick" from your club I think you should be the bigger man and let him represent it. If you can spank him, but they still won't let you represent? See next one... Exactly how old is this guy and what are the rules on entrance to the tournaments? If the older guy is coming up to his "last chance" at something like this? You should let him go for it. Maybe they are giving the old guy a last shot at his dream? You wanna be ruining that? Good luck man and I am sure you will get your chance to shine again.
No. My bad.. Old guy, I mean by, he is a senior guy who disappeared for sometime and has come back. And yes, I called up my coach twice and told him I'm dealing with this work pressure so I will be missing training until I'm relatively free for training. He is a young dude, a very good fighter. I have sparred with him some months back. I sparred with him yesterday and he seems to be in excellent touch. The guy something actually.. People call him Tiny Tyson.. I think he went to a different city or something and has come back to the club again. And to answer your question, I don't think I can spank that guy, even in my dreams.. He is too good. My thing is, I was missing only one month and this guy comes in, out of no where, and he is in my seat. He has been in several fights. I'm yet to get one. Damn, this is so unfair. The worst thing, My coach is a very nice guy but I don't know why he is doing like this. Whatever.. I don't have the guts to ask my coach. I'm screwed.
You might not be ready. People are at different stages of learning - you only know what you know. So people always think they know it all. Because they do, All that they know if that makes sense.
Yeah. May be true. But I do better than the guy who is going to fight in flyweight. I spank the **** out of another guy who is going to fight in lightweight. They are ready and I'm not :dead I consider myself very unfortunate, that I started too late. There was no guidance. Looks like I can only make my Kid box, when I have one, and not myself. :tired Totally a bad day today.
just relax and continue to train, you ll get your chance.. now spar with tiny tyson and learn from him. there will be event when you will be needed!! you can only get better if you postpone fight
Dont take it as a negative, take it as a positive! You're back training now so work your butt off and as said above learn from the other guy and you may even overtake him with the right attitude! Sometimes you need to take a step back to gain 2 steps forward. Good Luck! :good
This post belongs to the General/Lounge Forum. Sorry for all the whining in this thread guys. Was a little ****ed up today. Thanks for hearing me out. I'm still wishing something will happen and I can still participate. God knows how long I need to wait if I miss this one.
Patience and perseverance are as valuable as any other attributes in this sport. Stop complaining, train hard and your time will come.
the club owes you nothing ,,you went back boxing at the wrong time get back in line & wait your turn ,,it sounds a good club if there prioritizing the lads that train regular :blabla
