It happens everytime because Big Fights need controversy in order to thrive. And when its the Biggest fight that could be made, it wouldn't settle for much less. The announcement that the fight is in jeopardy placed this fight in the front page of yahoo and most other sports columns during a busy christmas season.

More people are now talking about this fight and even more people are wanting this fight to happen since the negotiation debacle. Just by the magnitude of the fight and the money that could be made, there is no way that the promoters and fighters will not make this happen. mark my words lol, all of these are just promotional stunts and they are making a wonderful job in getting us hyped and so much involved.

there are marketing and PR men hired specifically by these firms to stir controversy. remember Pac-dlh doing the same thing. there was an announcement that the fight was not going to be made because of purse split and that DLH will fight sergio mora. That **** did wonders for the fight, it was all over the news and one or two weeks later, they announced that the fight is back, everyone was ****ing happy, even those who called the fight a circus and a money-fight were happy, its like ahappy ending lol

I wish I shared your confidence but I get a bad feeling about the whole thing.

It genuinely makes me very sad, no joke.... Im seriously thinking of giving up on boxing if we are denied this p4p mega-match - the first since Whitaker-Chavez in 93.... how long might we have to wait for another one of similar magnitude & importance ?... 15, 20, 30 yrs ?

In NO other sport would this be happening, just boxing..... & if it is some ploy to spark interest then I think its having the opposite effect but Im sure its not a ploy - as much as I wish it was.

On another note - its disappointing to see so many people on this forum making threads n **** calling one of the fighters cowards etc & acting all excited like schoolgirls as if this is some fkn soap opera.

I still havent forgiven Hopkins & Jones for denying us that rematch in 02 when both were no1 & 2 p4p but this will be far worse, I just hope this fight gets signed so we get the chance to witness history.

There is nothing more I can say here.
