More than anything, Silva needs a few tests against some proven UFC guys - to know exactly where he is. I'd like to see him against Shogun.
He's one of my favorite fighters at the moment, his Chute Boxe agression really shows through, I actually wonder if he had ever been teammates with Mendes, because Silva used to be part of the Macaco group of Chute Boxe, which Mendes is currently part of. Now that he is with ATT he seems to be more technically sound, so I think having both backgrouns is a great mix for him. He reminds me a little of the Rua brothers and some of the other older Chute Boxe guys, not so much in looking the same when they fight, but that yes his striking is powerful and something to be aware of, but he really makes his money by clinching and taking guys down then pounding them out. His punches and elbows from mount are probably his best weapon. I haven't seen enough of his submissions to know for sure, but they seem to be more than enough to beat most people with too.
