forrest is looking better then I have ever seen him. those injuries were legit. the time off really helped him. I would pay ppv to see him get redemption against mayorga.

Forrest fought backing up or movin away most of the fight and took advantage of Baldo jumping in and leaving himself open. There were a handful of instances that Vernon fought coming forward, but the reason that fight was exciting was because Baldomir kept coming forward and taking the shots. When Baldomir wasn't coming forward, there wasn't much going on. Vernon showed a little aggressiveness, but primarily counterpunched or threw a lead shot. It was effective, but he wasn't pressing the fight.

Don't get me wrong, Vernon clearly won the fight and accounted very well for himself- but let's not forget it was against a guy who fits his style perfectly.

Winky wasn't shot, he was 170 lbs and out of shape. Bernard isn't shot, he's 42 years old and fights ugly, but wins.

Not if he keeps stepping straight back all the time allowing Mayorga to jump in on him like that and whack him at will. Bad shoulder and elbow still doesn't mean you get spanked like that.

Two fights and he still couldn't figure that **** out. Lucky for him, Baldomir has only a regular pair of legs and can't cut the distance as quick as Mayorga does.

Maybe he'll get smart next time and use a wee bit of lateral movement.

But Winky and Hopkins will know exactly how to handle Forrest's jab-step back-and-counter style.

You did great with the first TWO. You're on you're own with the rest!!!

Vernon did flash the OLD VIPER again and it was wonderful to see such A CLASS ACT AND SOLID HUMAN BEING have a return to excellence:yep

Forrest is definitely a force to be reckoned with at 54 and given the current landscape there seems little to stop him from dominating.

Now, I'm a Vargas fan, but if Gayorga does pull the W, I would VERY MUCH LOVE THE OPPORTUNITY to see Vernon get a shot at redemption. He took a very big step this evening and OBVIOUSLY he's healthier than he's been in a while.:good

Vernon looked very good tonight. I would love to see him fight Mayorga or Mosely again(I don't think Shane would take the fight, though). He seems have come back from his injury woes. Hopefully he can bring some excitement to the 154 lb. class.
