Very good. If he would have beaten Margo I beat everyones view of Cotto would be different.

Cotto is still the man in my eyes. Never ducked anyone and always fought to the end.

I like Cotto a lot but he's no Tito.

Trinidad never quit and he wouldn't even have been in that position against Margarito - he would have wiped the floor with him worse than Mosley did.

I'm not even sure what it is that makes Tito so special - he just has that intangible something that Cotto, along with 99% of fighters, don't.

 

Tito had charisma and KO power that made fans go crazy when he climbed into the ring. He was a born fighter.

 

Cotto has some killer tats and Tito doesent....

He was 138, and it's unlikely he'd cut down three more pounds with his frame. He was not a small guy.

 

Longevity as champion, titles in 3 divisions, beat better opposition.

Actually I thought much of his WW reign was wasted on subpar opposition as Don King fed him too many Ray Lovatos and Roger Turners of the world. He even sued King in 1995 to try to get bigger fights.

That said, I wouldn't hesitate to pick Trinidad over Cotto, or anyone at 154 for that matter. The win over an undefeated Vargas is better than any of Cotto's wins, and I think Cotto also fares far worse than Tito did against Oscar.
