To be fair to Froch he has been through a run of fights that no one can compare to for several years, he was fighting a much more skilled and technical boxer in Ward in his own home country and he has just had a kid. Probably felt drained and not as motivated as he has been in other bouts.

Not that that is an excuse, I think ward would beat him on his best day but i do think if Froch fought him on his best day he could do better than he did last year and give ward a few problems.

At the end of the day though, he has fought just about everybody there is at the top of his weight division and has outdone expectations of himself. I think a re-match with Kessler would be be the best step to take next and then if he wins that he can have some more paydays with the likes of Ward or Cleverly/cloud/dawson at LHW.

Froch's just been on Sky saying he'd prefer Kessler to Ward as it'd be a better fight, spoke on the phone to Kessler about a possible fight in September or October.

He was gracious in defeat to Ward. There are always reasons why a boxer loses a fight. These 'reasons' are not excuses.

If he said "I lost because of xyz, if xyz hadn't of happened I'd've KO'd Ward" then yeah, that's not right but he hasn't said that.

I know where you are coming from but the manner in which McCracken seemed to shrug off the Atlantic City version of Carl Froch suggested to me that they felt he was a shadow of himself out there.

As much as I admire Ward and that victory over Froch, I do feel Carl could give a far better account of himself should they meet again, and especially if they fought in Nottingham. (the Boxing World seem to completely write-off the possibility of Ward ever coming to the UK or the notion it could help a home fighter)

Andre Ward beat Froch with a broken left hand. Still controlled the fight with that hand of his. Ward is simply better.

Ward is just better than him, always will be ... he should refrain from making excuses and leave it as it is. The only logical fight I see right now for him is a Kessler rematch.

I think part of having the attitude of a fighter means believing on your best night you can beat anyone and when you lose, there's always a reason having to do with you not being at your best. And of course your performance really can be affected by bad socks, and not ad******g to time zones and climates and a sore toe and stomach cramps, etc, but all in all, you either get through it on top or you don't and you get credit when you do. Ward was the better man. Atlantic City, Nottingham, the dark side of the moon, wherever. But I certainly wouldn't mind Froch changing my mind about that in a rematch and surprising me again. :hey

The fact Carl wants to fight Kessler again so much and with Kessler being there on Saturday shows that they both want it, would be very surprised if they didn't fight each other within the next year

Froch was clearly a better man on home soil , regardless of the fact Bute couldn't deal with him at all , in any aspect of boxing / fighting , Froch looked a million dollars , simple as that !!!

Going off topic slightly , he does have a legit story about the Kessler preparation , the ash cloud really ****ed him up with the Kessler bout and he ended up staying on weight for nearly a week before weighing in , which according to him ****ed his body up , and one would have to agree , that sucks !!!!!

As for Ward , he looked terrible , Froch genuinely looked like a man who didn't belong in there on that night with fighters such as Andre Ward , after Bute people will have to take notice of Froch and what he says , because he just issued a statement :deal

Too much time on the road , too many odds stacked against him for too long , Carl Froch needs to adopt the Joe Calzaghe school of home fights only from now on

Froch keeps saying "no excuses" then keeps saying "that wasn't me" in the Ward fight.

What? Bute has already been KO'd by Andrade & fought no one. Bute is no Ward. Ward easy beat kessler, Abraham & is a gold medalist.
