No accountability - The turn a blind eye/ask no questions attitude to the alphabet boys of most of the boxing press who are far too respectful towards the very people who are ruining the sport. An organisation within the sport that ranks Gary Lockett #1 middleweight contender in the world is not fit to be involved in the sport. Yet the likes of Boxing News barely raise an eyebrow.
Too many sanctioning bodies. Fighters by-passing both British and Euro levels - at least fight at one. Catch weight fights - we have a million divisions where we used to have 8 and fighters still feel the need to fight at a weight in between them! (I'm looking at you Pac - if you're 144lbs you're a welter, deal with it.) Fat HW's. As weight ins won't work and BMI doesn't work for muscular people, we need to find a way of ensuring all HW's are in shape.
I hate the way here in Ireland, some shows feature Irish fighters against whatever Latvian from a certain stable can make their weight division. They come with 3-18 records and are thrown in pointlessly to fill up space on poor undercards. These fighters are then re-used, sometimes jumping up weight divisions, with the promoter hoping no one will notice. Its shambolic, and offensive to the boxing public.
I also hate the WBA having multiple champions, excessive record padding, fighters ducking other fighters to keep their 0's, fighters overstating the importance of wins over shot fighters, people hating Cotto for no reason, the term *******, Dave Parris, Joe Cortez, some of the rubbish fights that have been PPV and fights being called off at the last minute.
You should watch pro-bouts in Australia. Thai's/Indo's. Records similar or worse to the one you used and usually from what people have said or i have been "told" it can be 100 bucks per round.....aussie bucks :-( Hence the motivation to stay on there feet. Is a ****ing shame, on the sport and the fighters in BOTH corners too. I know Aus dosent have the figures we have but seeing it first hand, is quite disturbing. They seem to get a lot of Argies on there bills too. These journeymen often enough take on Australias best prospectss regularily. Have a look at some of the records. Shocking
I love it all; the good (the fights); the bad (politics) and the ugly (Valuev)..... Actually there is something I dislike: Ring deaths.
casual fans not knowing **** people disrespecting fighters sanctioning bodies the best fights not being made fighters not fighting enough no 15 rounders young fighters ebing built up so early with not alot of experiance decline of British Commonwelath and Euro belts lack of fighters fighting bad undercards lack of coverage
