...He blatantly contradicts himself on video...it's not a big deal, but the Floyd fans still find some way to justify it. That I don't get.

Maybe true, but it's irrelevant, none of their fights are compelling, they don't have aesthetically pleasing styles, and they don't really have glowing personalities. A lot of people like them just because they come from the same country as they do or they are white...two other things I can't relate too.

    Totally agreed.

Again, irrelevant, people have already decided in their mind that he is a cheater...I don't understand how someone could do that without it first being proven or there being overwhelming evidence to suggest it. As I say...I don't get it...I don't want to get it.

Fair enough. Was going to reply again, but I think I'd be missing the point. These are just things that just don't make sense to you. No point trying to further rationalize them. I think we've all got things like that - like how people can defend Haye for pulling out against the Klitschkos and blatantly avoiding them after the copious amounts of trash he talked about them to make a name for himself off of their backs. I don't give a **** how bad the deal was, he shouldn't have agreed to it in the first place if he didn't like it, etc.. I was a fan of his until he started this nonsense. Now I'd love to see him stretched out on his back.

Absolutely. Klitschko's being good at what they do isn't a good enough reason to be a fan of them in my mind. I'm a fan of Barrera because of the consistently entertaining fights he's treated us with over a 20 year career, and how he proved the critics and odd-makers wrong on numerous occasions. I like how he handles himself in the ring, all stoic with little emotion, and how he delivers pin point, accurate punches in combination with compact form.

It's frustrating to me...seeing these big Klitschko's being 2-3 divisions bigger than their opposition and still putting in lackadaisical performances.

That's why we need young Klitschko vs. Haye. It's a fight where I think he'll actually have bad intentions.

That's probably because a lot of us aren't the jingoistic flag-wavers you think we are. Why should I get behind Shannon Briggs? The fact that he's from Brooklyn doesn't even come into the equation, because I evaluate him as a fighter before I start riding his nuts. Boxing is an international sport, I like fighters from all over the world.

Excellent post. I couldn't care less where a person is from when it comes to cheering for them.

I admit that I openly cheer for fighters from my city. The same way I cheer for our hockey team. Its fun to have a little bit of fan frenzy for hometown fighters.

People think I'm half Mexican or some crazy ****...I'm as British as it gets...just none of our fighters really do it for me...in terms of technical ability and toughness.

You'll have to wait a while to cheer again in hockey, then. This ain't '93.

I assumed for a while (not recently) that you were Mexican. The Barerra frenzy did it, I think. Even knowing you're not Mexican now, I still get that feel from you.

I didn't actually know where he was from when I first started liking him...and I didn't know Marquez was Mexican either. People say now, "well, isn't it obvious from their names alone". I was quite young when I first started getting into the sport, maybe a little naive and not very knowledgeable, all I knew was that I liked his style and the aura he gave off. I'm just not patriotic in the slightest...which is why it's hilarious when people try to classify me as a typical British fan.

My other favorite fighters are Korean, American, and Filipino.
