Let me say it like this.. Dirrell and Froch outboxed AA on the outside. Jabbin AA for 12 rounds. AA cant match these styles. He would also loose agains Kessler.. Styles makes the fight. If Ward fights AA like he fought Green, Kessler and Bika, AA will have Ward in range.. I would not wanna dance close up with AA.. Can Ward fight like Kessler, Dirrel and Froch with the distance, jabs with out holding all the time? Does Ward even have the range for that? Im not sure.. I could se AA catch Ward.. These Americans have glass jaws.. They are so thin.. Thats why they had to skill them self in slickness..
Hiro, I doubt Ward will opt to fight close with Arthur. He'll simply use Dirrell's blue print, and exploit his incredibly low work-rate.
Froch showed how limited Abraham is. I expect Ward to be able to beat him at long or mid-range. Abraham is very predictable, he's either defending or attacking. Give him movement when he drops those hands (it's very obvious that this is a sign of him attacking), attack when he has the high guard up...sounds simple, but Dirrell and Froch showed how to beat him.
I agree Ward will eventually in those 36 minutes be in AA's range, and AA will connect and put Ward on ***** street. I made this thread bout it, alot of peoples logical counter arguments there. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=271637
Abraham has a chance to KO just about anybody. That's just what happens when you have that sort of power. Ward has already proven that he can fight a variety of ways. So in terms of him coming in with the wrong plan, ain't going to happen.
Although I'm not down with the glass jaw bit, it might actually happen. I expect Ward to win a wide UD, but if his punches can't hurt AA (very possible, he's no Froch) and stays inside he has to resort to butting and elbowing (only allowed when he fights at home), and staing clear of AA's elbows. A KO for AA will be possible in this case, but I expect Ward to fight from the outside in this one as much as possible.
Actually, I think AA might be especially vulnerable on the inside. He would be lost at sea, without his trusty high guard, if Ward took him in to the phone booth. see RealSoulja thread on topic.
The super six is what happens when top fighters fight each other. They win and loose and that doesn't means that they are bums. AA can beat Ward it's not impossible. Ward for me will find a good game plan using his jab and will outwork AA. But who knows I thought like many that AA will KO Froch. Boxing is full of suprises when the top dogs fight each other
I suspect that the Froch fight will have ruined Arthur for good, just like Calzaghe ruined Lacy, but I hope I'm wrong and that Arthur beats Ward. Pre-Froch I would say it was a 50/50 fight, now it's 90/10 Ward
If froch can shutout AA with ease then im sure ward will beat him too, ward is faster and has better movement than froch
With AA's power he can KO anyone if he connects like another poster said. I expect ward to adopt a similar game plan to Dirrell and Froch and he should win by wide UD, maybe not a landslide like Froch, something like 117-118 to 111-112. Well I can't wait for this fight to come really as I will bung a few £££ on the ward UD.
