I've been watching Ward since he won the gold medal at the Olympics. He can fight any way he needs to inside that squared circle. If he needs to box and move to beat Arthur Abraham, he will. However, he may just surprise everyone and totally outfight Abraham on the inside. I still want to see the fight despite Abraham's two successive losing efforts.
You know AA has been pretty much outboxed the same way in his last three fights starting with Taylor, although he was able to find a way to KO Taylor due to his stamina issues and loss of confidence, It's like Kelly Pavlik all over again, a great gameplan was laid out and 9 times out of ten elite caliber fighters will be able to exploit their weakness, which is both fighters are one dimensional, they rely solely on power and their lack of boxing skills and inability to adapt is something at this point in thier careers that is not easy to overcome. Add too that AA's very low workrate, his diminished confidence (as evident with him wanting to go back to 160) and you have a great chance that he looses to Ward just as he lost to Froch & Dirrell. Just as most knowledgeble boxing fans know, AA is not a good inside fighter and needs distance to be effective with his power, he's physically strong but i feel Ward is stronger, especially after holding his own and eventually roughing up and handling Bika a very strong Super-Middleweight, who's game is inside fighting. Wards defence in my opinion is better than Froch and Dirrell, so how then AA comes in and gets a lucky punch on a fighter as smart and as defensively sound as Ward who also has great strength and stamina is a long shot. Look for Ward to beat on AA wether it's using the jab and outboxing him or roughing him up on the inside inturn sending AA back to middleweight where he wants to be.
Pre-Froch it's 50/50 and now its 90/10 because Froch "ruined" AA. I suppose then that Mayweather "ruined" Hatton for Pacquiao? And Leonard "ruined" Hearns for Hagler? And Joe Frazier "ruined" Ali for Trevor Berbick? What utter nonsense.
