Ive did it just once so far. Just be prepared man dont be dumb like me and just show up not prepared to fight and take a fight 10 pounds above your natural weight on an hours notice thats where you find yourself getting RNCed after dominanting the guy but you had no gameplan or decent corner to see what you couldnt when you make the mistakes. But yeah me find a event to apply for research it alittle make sure its well organized mine was awful they allowed most of the people to weigh in with hoodies and shoes on and it all took place on one of them cheap K-Mart scales. Just train hard and properly you most likely wont know your opponet but atleast have some sort of a gameplan or understanding of your strengths and weaknesses. Stay relaxed alittle while before hand warm up of course but dont burn alot of energy mentally or phyiscally I watched the guy I cornered do it and seen how it was his downfall in the fight itself. If never boxed or competed before it might be all new and a bit scary for you going in. Boxing and my MMA fight was alittle different but ill tell you what I did before the MMA fight once I got offered the fight I signed some paperwork (basically your basic info, where you train, your record, your style, medical history, emergency contacts ETC)weighed in which was a joke I must add,got a band on my wrist incase security asked why I was wondering around, took a brief physical (just real basic stuff that your would do for a regular phyiscal just no testicle touching),listen to the rules with the other fighters, took some creepy looking picture for my entrance. Then just had a few minutes to get ready cut my nails, wraped my hands, did a interview for one of the media guys then the little short fat guy came and walked me to the stage to walk out.
Thanks. I also have to ask. Were there any serious injuries? And what was the atmosphere like backstage? Also what was the cage like? And what was the crowd like? Also what was you medical requirements like? I guess I could just send you a message. For the event I am thinking of I will need 1.blood test 2. eye test. 3. someting i don't even know, and it has to be mailed to said sanctioning body of state teh event is held at. Andmy total will come to near $100 some + dollars. So and how long are those test good for just one contest? Or were things differnet with your event??
its easy to get into a ameteur strike grapple competition but you may have to travel, once you win a few of those just send an e mails to promotions. but obviously you have to get good enough not to get ground empounded into the ground
what martial arts experience do you have? do you trian bjj if so gi or no gi and how much of each. have you done wrestling? whats your stand up like? i need more info before i can adivse you. ill tell you right now if your only a stand up fighter dont do it. if you only train no gi dont take a fight against a bjj fighter that trains gi youll get smashed. for mma you need to be doing bjj both gi and no gi if your one of thoughs guys that only dose no gi you will get owned against a guy that dose both.
Thanks. No problem my freind. I also have to ask. Were there any serious injuries? I dont believe there was I missed most of the fights because mine was first so I went in the back afterwards tried to relax then got my buddy ready who was on 7th then we left shortly after as it was a 5 hour drive home. And what was the atmosphere like backstage? Probablly what you can imagine there was 2 lockerooms red and blue corners. Some guys walking around screaming and trying to physch others out I guess just plenty of guys walking around trying to get mentally ready. Wasnt really hectic or anything like that though like I said basically what you could expect. Also what was the cage like? Not sure what you mean ? It wasnt an octagon or anything it was a circle and pretty small but I used the cage to get my takedown it seemed pretty well built and strong as I drove my opponet into it at the start of the match. And what was the crowd like? Crowd was alright pretty empty though it was a large arena with lots of empty seats but the crowd was cool they had no idea who I was but cheered anything way they were a respectful crowd just there to drink beer and watch fights. Bro your event seems alot more legit ive seen a few shows that do that they want you to email the phyiscal reults and blood test etc to them. Basically I showed up to that event and was allowed to fight for all they know I could have had some disease and if I bled it couldve been ugly but they didnt know. Know I guess I can tell you when you do the brief phyiscal before the event its not much just about 5 minutes but try to get in line first its a hell of a wait.
