Thinking about putting a bet on Jones at 5/1 odds...

and how much worse has the sport gotten due to purse splitting...

Good bet. Good odds. There's a style element to it that makes it possible for Jones. I think this is good odds and I think a small wager bet would be good.

 

Yes purse splitting sucks but in this Case Hopkins was VERY unreasonable, you just can't go to a fighter who is better known, a bigger draw, that has already beaten you, ask him to defend his titles at a catch weight and get a 50/50 split. When you consider all the circumstances involved 40% was more than fair. Hopkins has had no problems making compromises against smaller fighters fighters but he made damn sure to price himself out of fighting RJJ.
