Like all advice above says just go with it. Just keep working hard in training and adjust your diet and you will see lbs shed along with you becoming a better boxer. I used to be a chubbier guy around 165 before i started boxing. Now i walk around at 145 and just fought at 135. Just stay in the gym, stay dedicated.

Find a gym you like, i moved from three different gyms in my first 4 months till i found a coach and team that i felt comfortable with. It might be awkward and intimidating walking into these gyms but don't let that scare you, don't worry about anyone else, work to better yourself every single day.

    Work hard, results will come...

I'm sure there are but I never took the time to really look for them properly because there's only one gym in my neighbourhood (I live in the suburbs of a major Canadian city), but even those around the more ghetto ones around the downtown core seem to charge quite a bit.

It's true that the clean gyms attract boxercicers, but it doesn't mean the two worlds can't coexist together. As long as the head coach has the credidentials and dedicates time to his amateurs, I mean what else is there?
