Good point. In the Norton rematch,he was probably revelling in his revitalised pre-lay off conditioning, feeling like the young Cassius Clay. Whereas he concentrated on the tactical side a bit more against Frazier.

I always liked the L.A. Forum... I was last in it back in 2003 for Aerosmith / KISS.... YEAH!

I thought it was sad when Chick Hearn and Ruben Castillo worked the lousy Prime-Ticket cable fights in the late 80s and early 90s outta the Forum in front of 2,000 or 3,000 fans at best... I hate an empty Forum for fights / concerts...

I was only 6 yrs old when Ali and Norton fought in L.A. back in '73... I missed that show... But I have the fight on a few copied tapes tucked away...

In truth, Ali and Norton's styles didn't mesh all that well... None of the three fights really produced any drama such as cuts or knockdowns, let alone a TKO..... Yes, Ali's jaw was busted in fight # 1 down in San Diego... We all know that now...

Fight # 2 was the best outta the series overall....

Fight # 3 was the biggest event and a decent fight, too...

Fight # 1 in San Diego was a bore....
