-- Will this generation of 140-154 lbs. fighters will be remembered as a great one? Of course. -Mayweather (130-154)....All Time Great -Hatton (140-147)....P4P fighter and Top15 Jr. Welterweight -Mosley (135-154)....All Time Great. -Cotto (140-147).....very good fighter making his legacy. Then you have some other fighters like De la Hoya, Williams, Judah, Margarito, etc.
Agreed, thats what boxing needs as well, to continue this great year of match-making and carry it forward
Damn right, Ive almost forgotten that a HW division exists! I havent watched one since Lewis v Vitaly!! ( Although I have seen SP fight a few times)The lower divisions are getting all the match ups right (or there abouts) and to me thats the most appealing thing, the HW scene is so distorted at the moment, with too many meaningless fights taking place, its a shame, but in time it should sort itself out
Hopefully not remembered as the "What could have been" division of the 2000's. This division needs more than Cotto/Mosley and Hatton/Mayweather to happen to be a great period for boxing. The two winners and losers must face off, with people like Williams and Cintron also being given chances. Sadly, I think Mywather will win and retire or continue to be inactive. Hatton will lose and go back to 140lbs. Cotto will continue to steamrole people, but not any great fighters. Mosley will probably hang around for one more fight, losing to a ood up and comer like Williams.
I'd say 130-135 can make some fights that'll be just as good,if not better.Bona fide superstars in Baby Bull Diaz,Pac,JMM and you also have the exciting contenders like Katsidis,Valero and Humberto Soto.
Felix Trinidad, Winky Wright, Ricardo Mayorga, Vernon Forest, Fernando Vargas, Kostya Tszyu,
