He has the body of a tank and a chin that could probably stand up at middle weight and higher. Now he gets props for maintaining his build and training tough etc. But its become obvious that the punches at this weight do not effect him.. a style that relies on staying within a comfort zone because your genes allow it at this weight does NOT deserve the respect I'm sorry. His style is about only using opportunities that his opponent gives him. Well when the opportunities aren't there you have to MAKE them which takes courage and heart.. and Clottey doesn't do that which is a display of a LACK of courage. That said this criticism is coming from an Internet fan and he at the end of the day is the top 10 WW but I believe it is valid
Nothing wrong with fighting to survive from the second you start the fight? then why the **** waste people's time, how about throwing the towel in after the bell sounds for round 1? And if he wants to take in the Atmosphere, there were seats for $50, take in the atmosphere from there, not center stage in the most attended fight in over 50 years.
I just think clottey couldn't find a way to deal with Pac's speed. Everytime he threw a punch he copped 5 back.
This was the chance of his life and he blew it. Still have love for the dude, but I don't want to see him mixed up in any elite level competition for a while.
Lenny Dejesus apparently was pretty critical of Clottey. This is a google translation from a Puerto Rican newspaper so some of it may be a little off. http://translate.google.com/transla...ntalones&catid=28:boxeo&Itemid=24&sl=es&tl=en
Clottey is good fighter, a warrior in the ring. We're not the once taking those punches he was we don't know what was going through his mind.I tell you what he can dance LOL.It's a dsgrace, it really is, just terrible he is being bashed like this.
You could see something was seriously off in that corner. He should have threatened him with throwing in the towel after the 7th. "You don't show me something I swear I will throw in the towel at 2:50 of the 12th!"
you must have been watching a different fight. Frankly, I'm getting bored of this 'Clottey fought like Clottey' nonsense. Clottey fought like a ****ing *****. The whole fight he hid behind his hands and was scared to fight. There is simply very few boxers in the top 100 in the world who could NOT do what he did - that is: put his hands in front of his face for 12 rounds. It was a disgrace. He made no attempt to make the fight competitive. He just collected his multi-million dollar pay cheque and is laughing all the way to the bank.
They would dog him any other time but since he was fighting the all mighty pacquiao they are going to pump him up for a gracious lost. He got a ****ing moral victory, what a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
They need to take his boxing license from him and give him the NOBLE PEACE PRIZE FOR 2010!!!!!!! Real Talk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
