    Has anyone heard what the plans are for US TV? :huh A couple of weeks ago Bob Arum had mentioned wanting to do it live (it would be on a Saturday morning here) on HBO Latino but nothing had been solidified.



    EDIT: THE ONLY LIVE TELEVISION OUTLET FOR THIS CARD ANYWHERE IS THE BOXNATION UK COVERAGE FROM 9:30AM-NOON EST/2:30PM-5PM UK. HBO2 IN THE USA AND THE ABS-CBN COVERAGE ON FILIPINO TV ARE ON TAPE DELAY & NOT AIRING UNTIL AFTER THE EVENT IS OVER.

    That's a solid card. That's opening weekend for baseball, but I wonder if a network might still take a crack at airing some boxing.

    There isn't going to be any baseball game on early in the morning. (it will be 9am EST when it's 10pm local time in Macau, around when main events the world over typically get underway).

    The full card airs on HBO2 @ 2pm EST/7pm UK/3am local time.

    ^^ That is the negative news.

    The broadcast is on tape-delay. It's same-day coverage, but for some reason they could find a random spot to squeeze it in during mid-afternoon but not in the morning when it will actually be taking place. :gsg

    Why? His style wasn't pretty in the amateurs, it's going to be paper-bag-over-the-head-worthy in the pros.

    Thanks for the updates IB!!! Major props to HBO 2 for picking up this fantastic card!!! I imagine the main draw for them was Viloria, and given how much trouble there was finding a network for his great fight with Marquez, maybe this indicates there is a developing market in the States for Viloria fights. I sure hope so!!!

    Respected columnist Dan Rafael has incorrectly reported it to be live coverage on HBO2.

    Trust me, it's going to be on delay.

    3am local time in Macau.

    Nowhere on the press release by Top Rank does it say the word "live", opting instead for the more ambiguous and non-committal phrase "same day coverage".

    I never want to hear anyone ever again praise Top Rank in comparison to smaller promoters taking fights to areas which pay the highest site fees (instead of engaging in "grassoots promoting for the good of the sport" :roll:). This card should absolutely shatter that contrast.
