I have a really controversial take on his two fights with Castillo.

I think he won the first one walking away, should have gotten a knock down in the first round, and was effective in blocking shots and hitting Castillo effectively. I had it like 8-4 for Floyd, maybe a swing round in there to make it 7-5.

Then, in that second fight, I feel like he was actually less effective because HE RAN AWAY in rounds, so I actually had that one 7-5 for floyd, with maybe a swing round making it even. His use of movement made me unwilling to give him a majority of the rounds, whereas he toughed it out in the first fight and actually traded with Castillo, and in my opinion definitely got the better of him.

I think Floyd won both, but I think you could score that second fight a draw. Nobody on earth agrees with me including official judges, unofficial judges, but that's how i always see those two fights.

neither is a great mayweather performance in the vein of Corrales, Ndou, Gatti, Marquez, or Mosley.

Really? Floyd lost the first four rounds to Zab Judah...he even got the benefit of not getting called for a knockdown. He still won that fight, didn't he?

first round was a toss up and Floyd clearly won the 3rd.

Zab definitely won the first 2 rounds.

Floyd clearly won the 3rd round, even grandpa Lederman gave it to Floyd.

    4th was a swing.

Honestly, it was a close fight. I had Floyd winning 7-5. In my opinion, he did enough to win. I could see a Castillo victory, though. By no means a robbery. People are just delusional. They think a close fight was a robbery because they can't understand other people's opinions.

    Other examples:

Pacquiao vs. Marquez I & 2 - Personally, I gave Marquez the first fight by one point, but I'm not going to argue with the fact that Manny won because it was extremely close. I could see a few of the rounds I gave to Marquez going to Pacquiao. Same with the second. I scored it a draw, but I could see a Manny win or a JMM win.

Williams vs. Martinez I - I thought Martinez did enough to deserve a decision in that fight, but that fight was about as neck-and-neck as it gets. There's no way you can't argue a possibility of Williams or Martinez winning that one.

People just like to dig up old victories of fighters and discredit them. Floyd has never lost and people like to try and disprove that by bringing up his only "real" debatable win. (Oscar wasn't that close, in my opinion) In the end, the judges decision is the only thing that matters.

Regardless of who you thought won the fight, weren't you all surprised by how both guys just laid the foot off the gas in the 12th and final round? It's like they BOTH felt they did enough to win even though it was a close fight.:nut:nut:nut

I had Floyd by 2 points the first time I scored it, a draw the second time, 1 point win for Floyd the third time, and a 1 point win for Castillo the fourth time. I guess it depends on how you score.

It was close but in my opinion Mayweather won. I don't have my score card but I recall scoreing it 7-5 for Mayweather. Mayweather won more clearly in the rematch. It was not as close as the score indacated. I think that people wan't to see Mayweather lose so badly that they will grasp onto anything they can. Had Castillo been given the second fight. The scores were close. It would have been a far greater travesty.

You have to score for EFFECTIVE aggressiveness. Oscar was very aggressive, but he didn't land that many punches. There were rounds that were clear for Oscar, but I had 87-84 for Floyd by the 9th and he clearly won 10 and 11. I've watched it several times and I cannot find any way to give Oscar that fight.
