There are two good views in this thread. In both, you can see OS leaning to his own left, left hand up in a guard position, VK is actually set for him, his blow starts beside his body, and he actually gets some body action into the blow. VK mostly arm punches and still knocks people out. The blow lands just forward of OS's guard, knocking his guard back and landing just behind the eye. OS wasn't expecting the blow, and has never been hit in this area. You can even see the blow move OS's head from left to right. While fighting for Cuban, he always had headgear protecting himself from blows in that area. As a pro, OS has never fought any nearly as tall or as big a puncher as VK. An expected blow to the head from a big puncher wobbles the legs, that's what happened here.
There definitely was contact on the head. Lunging forward against Iron Fist with their head down below the waste is suicide...
Absolutely agree. The oh-so-ultra-slick Solis lunges forward like a drunkard and finds himself wide open and defenseless right in front of a hard-hitting 255lbs HW. And people are telling me Solis moves around well? He displayed terrible balance and sense of range.
But wait guys, Victor says he was clearly stumbling BEFORE the shot.. though he has ZERO evidence to back it up.
His knee popped out on his way in while throwing. As Vitali came forward, Solis falls back as his knee is out of joint and there is no way he can put any of his considerable weight on it. Having had the same type of knee injury (sports related) It is quite easy to see. It really depends on what angle(s) you watch it from. From the "hollywood" angle sure it seems like Vit clubs him with a shot on the way in, but you can see it is a weak grazing shot that would not have put him down. Solis more than likely had a bum knee that showed back up last night.
I've seen couple of nasty knee injuries but never before seen a guy walking ten minutes after the accident.
