This clip sums it all up

Not sure what is up with Floyd. Floyd would make more money than in any other fight, yet he doesn't make it. Leaves you scratching your head. I would favor Floyd in the fight. I wonder why he won't make it. He is constantly saying it is all about the money, it's business. If that is so, why wouldn't he make the fight?

 

Not excusing him but I think he'd make the same (give or take a small amount) amount he made fighting Canelo. The Pac fight would probably generate 30% more sales, tops, that's 3 million PPVs to 2.2 million. He made about 90% purse and PPV split and walked away with no less than $80 million. Against Pacquiao, he'd walk away with 60% in a fight that would generate only 30% more in PPV sales. He'd take a pay cut and not make his usual slice of the PPV.

 

I was actually about to come back and make the same argument because he said it in the clips (I'm a businessman, first).

He saw what I saw when the Canelo/Mayweather fight was announced. Mayweather could make way more money preserving his 0 and not fighting Pacquiao than doing so. If he got beaten, he wouldn't have gotten that big Showtime contract because all his antics relies on him being undefeated. Pacquiao was the biggest threat to his undefeated record at that time.

I was saying the same thing about Canelo prior to the Mayweather fight. If Mayweather didn't agree to having the fight at 154 pounds, Canelo could've just cancelled the fight and still became a star. He was bringing in crazy numbers on Showtime prior to him losing to Mayweather. Now that he lost to Mayweather, I can't help but think he lost a lot of fans, especially with that performance.

I mean de la Hoya tries to start working with Top Rank and Mayweather all of the sudden runs for the hills behind Haymon. In the clip, it also showed that he's still pushing out the goal-post (avenge all your losses--we need to find Torrecampo and Singsurat--and join the Many-roids team).
