A lot of people got sick of this fight never happening for years. That's why there's not much interest. People were made to wait for so damn long, that when it finally did get arranged both fighters were shot anyway. So it's only hardcore boxing fans who want to see this fight now instead of the whole world who wanted to see it in 2010. I can completely understand why there isn't as much hype as expected. From the outside this fight just looks like two spoiled kids who couldn't get their own way are finally agreeing to have one last payday.

Maybe it's just the lack of promotion for the fight.

I actually like it, there's no point in making a multi-city/multi-country tour for this matchup. It would take time away from both fighters to train, and in a fight of this magnitude, both men need as few distratcions as possible.

i got sick of this fight years ago, and i prefer watching old fighters to modern boxing.

that said, as soon as i realised this fight was on i was pumped, and i still am. how the fuk can you not be excited for what may be the biggest and most important fight in your lifetime?(depends how old you are). some people just like hating more than boxing.

it only means a lot are hooked with pre-fight hype that's why they sell a lot of garbage fights easily. almost all boxing fans know this fight scheduled so just chill out. no need to get concerned with the non-boxing fans. all people who is connected with the sport will follow this fight of both accepted atg's which does not always happen.

Im feeling ripped off by it all, These guys are no longer in their prime and the reasons why they havnt fought by now are just a long list of nonsense. All i ever wanted was for 2 drugs clean fully fight masters of the sport to fight it out and have a winner with no controversy or questions or allegations.

On the night its not guna be packed out with true hardcore boxing fans and i dont like that, the atmosphere isnt quite the same. Its the rich and famous everywhere who some are huge fans but alot are not and dont really see half of whats going on, dont see the sneaky body shot, great footwork, feints and the likes that get a good boxing crowd going.

The price of everything just stinks of "we couldnt care less about the true boxing fans that have followed us our entire careers". Yeah make alot of money but how much for tickets? How much do American fight fans have to pay to watch this working mens sport? Come on dont sheet on us with these prices. I drive a van for a living im no high life executive.

Come fight night all this will wash away though and i will be excited as hell. Its still huge.

The promotion has been poor, no doubt about it. Who cares about them not being in their prime they can still beat everyone else and haven't slipped much.

It's because the fight is finally on and your excitement calmed down because of that. This is normal depending from one person to another but as soon as the fight draws near and more people start talking about the fight(especially personally), you will be on flames again.

Why would they spend too much money promoting a fight that needs no promotion?. Literally everyone has been talking about this fight every single day ever since it was announced. Instead of the promotion running after the fight, it's the complete opposite with this one.

More money to be made in Vegas.

Taxes are better, and the hotels can make money off high rollers coming in

come on now, it's a huge fight... tickets sold in 60 seconds! record money is being wagered (they say up to 100mm). Non-boxing fans are talking about it...

when fight night arrives, you;ll see so many buying, even for $100.

The problem here is that some if us die hard boxing fans have extremely high expectations, it's almost as if we expect a crowed of millions to gather in time square and watch it on big screen and all theaters show it... that's how big we want it to be, something that stops the world from turning. Our expectations are too high...

but demand is apparently off the charts and people close to the sport keep saying this is bigger than any other fight in history. David Haye recently said he's never seen such hype before, people are asking him for tickets and willing to pay obscene amounts of money.

i think the disappointment comes from the arrogance, bickering coming from promoters and the fact that they are milking every penny at our expense.

Im not fired up for it as much as I should be because I feel its largely an illusion, imo. These are not the same caliber fighters as their brands suggest. Pac has been on the decline since 2011 to me, that decline saw him have close fights with Bradley, unable to stop Rios, and getting knocked down and out cold by a 40 year old JMM. Mayweather has declined a bit himself, and overall I think its just years too late, and I don't see it being all that competitive, or exciting. This sounds crazy but I almost think it has potential to be a mismatch (you don't know how wrong I hope I am)

Every interview or picture I see of Pac he looks old to me, its just hard for me to get pumped for this fight... its like getting served the food you ordered late and cold.

That being said, once its closer to the fight I will be excited just for the history side of it, and that such a big spotlight is on boxing, and of course for the fight itself. I just really really hope this fight isn't one huge disappointment that blows up in boxings face.

You had the Bradley fight close?. I gave Bradley two rounds only and I've seen than fight many times.
