This era of the middleweight division is as good as the era of 90's

Cotto, Quillin, Lee, Lemieux and Saunders are as good as the best middleweights of the 90's.

But there is a guy who is above of all, a K.O machine and his name is Gennady Golovkin - aka the boogeyman of 154-168 weight classes.

No top fighter, big name, etc from 154-168 doesn't really want to fight him. They are only barking.

I guess most people agree with this.

Let it be known, if GGG was American he would be considered a future/current ATG. :deal

I agree somewhat, its a lot better than people give it credit for. And the up and coming guys have the potential to make it even better.

Sorry, but it's not really even close.

Who exactly is campaigning at MW right now that was on the level of a James Toney or Roy Jones Jr?

Indeed. If the fighters from this era would fight each other regardless of money and belts, this mw era would be comparable with 80's and 90's in terms of competitiveness and action.

This is laughable. Cotto and that butter soft chin would get destroyed by a young Antwon Echols. As would Quillin, Lee, Lemieux etc. Golovkin would be a top 10 guy more than likely, but guys like Macklin, Murray, Geale, et. Those guys have trouble with an old Felix Sturm. A young Prime Sturm got his **** handed to him by ancient Spaniard Javier Castillejo. By no means a world beater.

Jones Jr., Toney, Hopkins, as well as the many legit contenders there were during the 90s. It makes Golovkin's opposition look like toilet paper.

Exactly, not to mention that contenders of the the era would beat the **** out of Golovkin's best opponents.

    A serious question for you.

What is the point of this thread?

Are you that bored on a Friday night?

You've already made one troll thread, so why have you made this one as well?

    Seriously, it's NOT funny.

    It's just sad.

Polluting what was once a great forum.

Why don't you engage in a proper debate?

    Forget it E,

Just a bored troll looking for attention.

He's already made a thread regarding GGG and the 90's MW's.

This place has gone down hill.

Finally some sense! There was HARDLY any diverse competition in those time periods, most of the division was dominated by Americans, now it is dominated by various people of many nationalities! :deal

    :D

    :rofl

If Golovkin was American, the middleweight division today would be considered great :yep

Just watch! When GGG moves on from MW and Harrison Jr becomes one of the top guys they will all say MW is great again. Exact same game plan they did with 168. They all said it was a joke when Calzaghe ruled. Then he moves on and Ward comes along. Suddenly they say it is now great.
