I always maintained that although the quality of heavyweight titlists would drop immensely if the Klits retired it would be much better for the division. having a bunch on unathletic fat / unskilled wild bums fight over world titles may not seem ideal at first but these bums are all on the same level so fights are much more competitive and the chance for memorable classics are far greater. World titles will be switching hands like Lacrosse. Heres hoping Wlad buggers off..
I agree with everything you said, and I've thought it myself for a while. I can't wish Wlad to bugger off though, because a dominate champion is a rare thing, and it much be cherished while we have them. Wlad, Floyd, Manny will be missed when they are gone.
I can't see people considering wlad top 5 ,while he has been dominate he has does this by fighting in a negative way .jab jab grab lean on messy hard to watch fights against inferior opposition .which in all honesty he should of been destroying a high percentage of .add to that when on the odd occasion he does have a half live opponent who comes forward .his body movement by grabbing as quickly as possible gives away his lack of confidence in his own ability to take a punch
You can't have a "Classic" if it involves fat bums swinging like drunks in car park. A great fight needs to have great fighters involved. Let's have Wlad vs. Stiverne, Pulev or Wilder - those are good fights.
In terms of an entertaining division it's always preferable to have fights which are competitive and with the Klitschko's they are so much better than everyone else they cast a showed of mild tedium over the division. Since Vitali retired we've seen many fighters take more risks and more interesting match ups as they jockey for position to get a shot at the WBC title. But you only have to look at the fighters involved to see it's weak division despite the rise of competitive match ups. Much like when the WBC super middle title was being passed around during the early 00's, with Beyer, Thobela, Lucas, Hilton etc. Just because it's entertaining doesn't mean what we are seeing is of a high quality.
I think you are confusing what you think destroying is, with what you perceive to be entertaining. Destroying does not have to mean a knockout. 120-108 is also destroying. Winning every round until the KO comes, in whatever round that may be, is also destroying.
No winning every round by jab jab grab lean and having a ref that let's you get away with it is not destroying at all it's a cure for insomnia
Wlad would of been all over Arreola's back from round one. He could never in a million years do what Stervine did last last night. Stervine never once bear hugged him, headlocked him or used any of the coward tactics Wlad uses. And Wlad is bigger , fitter and stronger than Stervive. Who knows know many loses Wlad would have under his belt if he wasn't allowed wrestle his way to victory. He's a bum and is is a black eye for the sport of boxing.
You want Wlad vs Stervine because its an easy win for him and want is two biggest threats to knock each other off. Typical ktard mentality atsch
It's true that competitive fights are more attractive as a one sided jab and right hand fest, but on the other hand it would create a new cruiserweight kinda division with a big number of different beltholders who don't fight eachother and on a pretty low quality standard.
