Lets look at this for a minute despite the beating that he will surely take against Oscar it's what will happen after this fight that scares me the most. Manny will obviously come back down in weight and at his age and the wars he's been in it might be too much on his body. He may never look the same much like Roy Jones who went up to HW and came back down and was shot. This just isn't worth the money grab that Pac is taking for the long term damage I feel it will do to him. With that said this fight is a farce and anyone who's a Pac fan or hell even a fan of the sport should be outraged by a guy who started at 106 going up to 147 for his first fight in that class against a a guy that will outweigh him by 10 pounds or more on fight night. I just hate to see another Roy Jones in the making.:-(

Why do people keep bringing up that he started at 106?
Who cares what he weighed as a teen. He is not a natural 106 pounder. He is a natural 130-135 lb fighter. His body has progressed alot and the 106 is no longer releveant.

I do not want to see this fight either but please dont use the "he started at 106" because it is irrelevant now. Maybe if he did walk around 106 lbs then yes it would be relevant but it no longer is.

i think that just by Pac accepting this fight, he is already no longer the same. not about who will win or lose but its about what his objectives are as a fighter.

pac started fighting when he was just 16. he already has 14 years of ring age and could be slippng but we don't notice it yet. i would not be surprised if we could see a dramatic decline from him anytime now. fighting oscar would just increase the chance/rate of his regression. as a pacfan, my final wish for pac then was to rematch and beat jmm and after that he could retire or do anything he wishes. he did beat jmm in a close fight and become the man at 130. the 135 title and "anything else" was and is just a bonus from me now. pac already did much in my expectations.

It is relevant. Pac is really a 130 pound fighter and is no more a 135 pound fighter than PBF is a 154 pound fighter. Just because you win a title at that weight doesn't mean you belong there.:deal He has no business at 147 period. The fact that he started his career at 106 has to come into play here you're an Oscarsexual so you have an agenda about this.

pac is a natural 122 pounder imo. that was his weight when he stopped growing-up and where he fought most of his fights.

It does not matter what he started at!?
It matters at what his avg weight is and the safest lowest weight he can make. Which i think is 130. But 135 is still reasonable.

And no Pimp C i am not an Oscarsexual. I respect his accomplishment but this decision pissed me off. Margarito was the perfect way for him to go out.

Pimp I have to agree with saul that Pac starting at 106 is irrelavent to a certain degree, because I'm pretty sure during Oscar early amatuer career he started at a very low weight, and in a sense Pac early professional career was like his AM career because before that he probably did'nt have one. The reason why this fight is a disgrace is because Oscar is too big for Pacquiao and Pacquiao is fighting two weight classes above where he has never fought at and Oscar is someone who has fought as high as 160.

This fight is gonna be another glorified sparring session just like the Gayweather/DLH fight was. Oscar doesn't want to go to war anymore. Did you see what Forbes did to his face? I think Gay la Hoya will take a decision but I wouldn't be suprised if Oscar looks the worse of the two at the end of the night....and IMO, Pacquiao's time is numbered anyway. He's already taken a lot of punishment throughout his career. Might as well cash out while he still has the marketablility. Guys with Pacquiao's style don't stay elite into their 30's.
