big difference in pacman starting at a much lower weight, as it was more than likely a natural growth process for him. on the other hand dlh has always drained going back to his amateur days and has always been the bigger man. or does anyone think that is was just a coincidence that the weight right above dlh is where shane and vernon forrest resided during their overlapping amateur careers.

Different weight range. That's why 106 is relevant and also why people bring it up, not because he still walks around at 106. Oscar started at lightweight (Manny's current) and fought as high as middleweight. He's obviously a lot more (in boxing standards) natural bigger fighter than Manny. What's worse for Manny is that he's jumping 2 more weight classes just to accomodate Oscar and get this fight done just after his first foray into 135, when a lot of knowledgable folks feel he's already stretching his absolute limits fighting that heavy.

That's why I think at fight night Manny will be near the same weight he fought Diaz (meaning in the sub-150's) only this time without the effort to drain. He can focus more on his conditioning.

I think you're being a drama queen. Roy Jones moved up from LHW to HW and did it no problems. He could easily win this fight.

I hope Manny wins but I doubt it.

Yeah but at what cost? He was never the same after he came back down and that's what I feel may happen to Manny as well.

I never thought he could beat Nate Campbell or unify 135 to begin with. If he somehow wins he won't ever be the same.

Sure would hate to see him get TKO'd by DLH and fight JMM again. He would lose for sure.

He's not really moving up man, he fought at 140 last time. He says he's coming into this fight at about 143.

Exactly or the Baby Bull for that matter. To be honest, I want him to face JMM again if he gets past Casa.

Everyone keeps comparing Pac to Mayweather or RJJ. Pac is sure as hell not a Mayweather and sure as hell not a RJJ. Not even close. And Oscar is no John Ruiz either. Pac is limited with speed and power as his main attributes and the power makes sense in the lower weight classes. Bring Pac up to the big guys and his power will find greater punch resistance in his opponents and his ability to take much more powerful shots than ever before surfaces to be questioned.

Coming in on fight night at 140 and fighting guys like Diaz at 135 is way different than fighting at 147. Especailly since he will be facing a nautural 154 pounder like Oscar who he won't be able to impose his speed, strenght and power against. Oscar's style and size is all wrong for Pac he has an excellent jab with a huge reach advantage which he will use to set up that left hook all night. Pac can do little to prevent this from happening.

Oscar couldn't knockout Steve Forbes, why would he be able to do it to someone faster who probably hits harder?
